How do I fix ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED on Chrome?

Start with conventional solutions for this Chrome error. Perform the following steps in
this particular order:

1. Clear Google Chrome's cache and cookies. A corrupted cookie or cache file
may cause this error to show up. Clear your history, cache and cookies from the
"Clear Browser Data..." menu on the Settings page.
2. Make sure you have unusual toolbars, extensions, viruses or
malware.Many malware applications run in the background and prevent Chrome
or other web browsers from connecting to external web servers. Uninstall them &
use Windows Defender to do a quick/full system scan.
3. Check/adjust your antivirus and internet firewall settings. Firewall rules
(manually or automatically activated) can block incoming and/or outgoing
connections for specific ports or applications. Check your antivirus software and/or
Windows Firewall settings to make sure that Google Chrome or Ports 80 and 8080
are not blocked in any way.

Restart your computer, open Chrome and try again. If the error persists move on to
clearing your DNS resolver cache:

1. Open your command prompt as Administrator.

o In your Start Menu, find "Command Prompt", Right-click on the menu item, and
click "Run as administrator".
o Or, in the Start Menu Search box, type "cmd", then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to
run it as Administrator.
2. Run the following commands in this order (to run each command, press
ENTER after typing it):
ipconfig /all
 ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
netsh int ip set dns
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /release

Restart your computer, open Chrome and try again. If the error still exists, you have one
final option - reinstalling Chrome and starting fresh. This will reset all the remaining
variables that may be causing this error:

1. Uninstall Google Chrome using "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs &

Features" from your Control Panel.
2. Delete all crashreport subfolders. You will find them under
C:\Users\%your_name%\AppData\Local\Google\
3. Reinstall Google Chrome. Download the latest version of Chrome Browser and
install it.

Restart your computer, open Chrome and try again. It should work now.

This error may be caused due to registry problems of chrome or an
infected file due to trojan virus. If the problem still persists, uninstall the components of
google chrome and reinstall it using a new set up file of chrome. If the problem is not
resolved, then make sure of the internet firewall settings. Firewall rules can be activated
automatically or manually. These rules are used to block incoming or outgoing net
connections with respect to specific port. Also make sure
that your antivirus settings does not block ports 80 or port 8080. Follow the details

This Error is Error 102 which normally arises due to pop ups and
unwanted extensions and toolbars. This leads to corrupted cookies that
are stored in the web browser. Alternatively you can follow these steps
to resolve ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED error 102 problem.
Step1: Open Command Prompt.

Step2: Run these commands

ipconfig/release

ipconfig/all

ipconfig/flushdns

ipconfig/renew

netsh int ip set dns

netsh winsock reset

Now Restart the computer and open chrome browser. Resolving this DNS problem, will

If this error ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED shown in Chrome browser, then
following steps should be performed to fix it:

1. Check for unusual toolbar, popup ads and remove it in Extensions.

2. Ensure Firewall, Antivirus allows chrome browser.

In order to fix the connection refused error, you need to clear all caches on your
browser.

Try clearing the history and relaunching the browser. If that doesn't help - reinstall
it.

1- Clear Your Google Chrome Browser Cache

Expired caches on your Google Chrome browser could block websites. That’s the reason

need to clear all caches on your browser.

To do so, copy and paste “chrome://settings/clearBrowserData” on the address

bar of Google Chrome browser, and press Enter.

2- Check Your Proxy Server Settings

Most proxy servers are not available lifetime. Sometimes, you use proxy servers and then
forget to remove it. When the proxy server is unavailable, you are unable to connect to
the internet. So, please check your proxy server settings again and make sure your
computer isn’t configured to use any kind proxy server or sock.

Go to Control Panel, and click on Internet Option.

Click on the Connections tab and select LAN settings. Next, make sure the “Proxy server”
is unchecked.

3- Disable Your Firewall Or Antivirus Software

Sometimes, your firewall or antivirus program block unsafe websites and will not let you
access to those websites. If two methods above can’t help you solve the “connection
refused” error, then just disable your firewall or antivirus program, and try to access to
those websites again.

Go to Control Panel > Windows Firewall, and then click on Turn Windows Firewall on or
off link at the left side., to turn off your firewall.

block your favorite websites.
