COURSE INFORMATION
Course Number: CpE 546/547
Course Name: Computer Networks
Course Description: This course deals with the fundamentals of computer networks.
Each of the OSI layers, as well as the main protocol TCP/IP are

introduced and examined. Network Design on both wired and
wireless Networks are presented and discussed.
Values: The course aims that the student may be able to appreciate the
importance of their computer network hardware skills and may
be able to use these skills to help them not only in their field of
study but also towards those in need of the technology. The
students are also expected to develop discipline especially in the
design of computer networks and proper implementation of
structured cabling.
Pre-requisites: CpE512 - Data Communications for CpE
Co-requisites: None
Credit: 4.0 units (both lecture and laboratory combined)
