General Exam Tips for Candidates:

Before the Examination:

Revise carefully before the examination. All of the questions will come from the material
you have covered during the module.

Make sure you are familiar with common exam vocabulary. A separate document is
provided on this on Campus. This will help you to understand the questions.

During the Examination:

All exam answers must be written with a ballpoint pen. Do not write in pencil.

Write all your personal information on the cover of your answer booklet – Name, NCC
Education Student ID number, Centre name. This is very important.

Take a new page for each question.

Look at the number of marks for each part of the question. This gives you an indication of
how much you are expected to write. If it is worth four marks, make sure you make four
points etc.

Do not waste time giving extra answers. If the question asks for two advantages, you only
need to give two. There are no extra marks for giving four!

Make sure you show all your workings in questions requiring calculations. There are marks
available for this.

Number the parts of the question carefully and leave a space after each answer.

If you don’t remember the answer to one part of the question, move on to the next part,
leaving some space in your answer booklet to come back and fill it in later.

Once you have completed all the questions, use all the remaining time to check and re-
check your answers. This way, you can avoid any simple mistakes.

Clearly cross out surplus answers. Failure to do this will result in only the required amount
of answers being marked.

Remember to write the numbers of the questions you have answered in the boxes at the
bottom of the cover of your answer booklet.

Make sure that it is easy for the marker to read your handwriting.
