B. Review
Before we proceed to our new lesson, let us
conduct a short review about our previous
lesson. Can you tell me what our last lesson all
about? Yes _____? Our lesson was all about makeup
Yes, that is right. Now who can give at least 3
example of make up? Yes _____? Foundation, concealer, lipstick
Correct, Now do you have any question about
our previous discussion? None ma’am
C. Motivation
So I will show a video that will show the power of
makeup (Watch the video)
Please race your hand to those who have already
experience being makeup by a professional
makeup artist? (student will respond)
What did you feel after having the make up? I felt beautiful and confident.
That is nice, nowadays not only ladies use
makeup. Actress, actors and even models hire
makeup artist to do their makeup, so if you have
knowledge about makeup most likely this can be
your career and earn money on it.
D. Lesson Proper
For this lesson we will learn the basics on
applying makeup, but before that let us study
first the six face basic shape.
Please repeat after me. Oval Oval
Square Square
Round Round
Heart Heart
Oblong Oblong
Diamond Diamond
Will you please look at your seatmate? Can you
identify what face shape he/she have?
Race your hand if you know the face shape of
your seatmate by just looking at him/her?
Yes ___? The face shape of my seatmate is oblong.
That is right, so there are some student who can
recognize face shape by just looking at the
diagram, but there are some who get confuse
about what face shape they have, Now let us
elaborate it more.
I will show you a picture of ladies that have
different face shape then, guest what face shape
they have. Oval
1st picture What face shape she have? Yes __?
Correct, Will you please read, then give to us key Ma’am oval is just like an upside down egg shape.
word so that we will not forget the shape oval?
Very good, how about the 2nd picture? Yes __? Square
Definitely, so what is square shape? If you have a square face, the sides of your face
will be straight and your face will be nearly as
wide as it is long. Your jawline is defined, with
only a minimal curve.
Very well said, how about the 3rd picture? Yes __? Round
Very good, so round people sometimes associate
round faces with “chubby cheeks”, but that isn’t
always the case. If you have a round face, your
cheekbones are just the widest part of your face
and your jaw will be curved. Think of a square
face, but with softer angles.
How about 4th picture? Yes ___? Heart
Can you tell us more about heart shape? A person with a heart-shaped face will have a
long and pointed jawline, with the chin being the
smallest point of their face. Imagine a triangle
flipped upside down on one point.
Nice, and the 5th picture? Yes ___? Oblong
Faces, or “rectangular” as it is sometimes called,
are similar to oval and square-shaped faces. The
only difference is, the face is longer and less
wide. Your forehead, cheeks and jawline should
all be pretty much the same width. And the last
picture? Yes ___? Diamond
Very good, what is all about diamond face shape? If you have a diamond-shaped face, your chin will
be narrow and pointed and your high cheekbones
will be your most prominent feature (lucky
ladies!). The difference between diamond-shaped
faces and heart-shaped faces is the hairline –
those with diamond-shaped faces will have a
narrower hairline.
Now that we already know the six face basic
shape let us proceed on how to apply makeup. So
in learning how to apply make there are
sequence of makeup that we need to follow.
What is the first make up? Yes ___? Foundation
Ok, The second? Yes ___? Concealer
Very good, the third? Yes ___? Blusher
Nice, then we have the powder, after that is eye
makeup and last part is the lipstick.
Do you understand class? Yes ma’am
Anymore question? None ma’am
Now let us proceed on how to apply make. But
before that I need a volunteer,
Let’s start with foundation.
- Always work from the face outwards, to avoid
an accumulation of the foundation around the
hairline-move from the cheeks to the ears, from
between the brows down over the nose, from
the chin out towards the jaw, then onto the neck.
I have brought make up here? Based on what I
have discuss a while ago who can demonstrate to
us how to apply foundation? Yes ____? (student will demonstrate)
Thank you, Next we have concealer. Concealer
are applied to cover dark circles around the eyes,
thereby greatly enhancing the appearance of the
face. Instead of applying the cream from the
inside corner of the eye to the outside it should
be dabbed on the skin and then gently blended
with the finger tips moving from the outside
corner to the inside corner. This procedure will
not pull the skin.
I will show you how it is being done on the right
eye, Now who can show us how it is being done?
Use the left side of the eye (student will demonstrate)
Thank you, The ideal facial shape is oval and by
the clever use of dark and pale tones, every facial
type can be made to appear oval. We have hear
different shape of the face that can be enhance
using dark and light make up. The first one we
have.
Trapezoidal Face, Now how we can enhance this
kind of shape? Yes ____? The trapezoidal face can be made to look more
oval by redefining the lower part with dark
foundation and using light makeup at the temple.
I have here brown and white crayons, will you
show us how it is being done through the picture
on the board? (student will demonstrate)
Exactly, Now let us proceed to the 2nd picture,
Rectangular And A Square Face. Yes ____? Both these shapes are redefined at the four
corners with dark foundation
Show us how it is being done through the picture
on the board? (student will demonstrate)
Correct, how about triangular face? Yes ___? The triangular face needs dark foundation at the
temples and to shorten the chin while the lower
face needs enlargement using light makeup.
Show us how it is being done through the picture
on the board? (student will demonstrate)
Very good, an oval face. Yes ___? The oval face needs shortening at the forehead
and chin with dark foundation
Show us how it is being done through the picture
on the board? (student will demonstrate)
Ok, Round Face. Yes ____? The round face is made to appear oval by using
dark makeup at the temples and around the
lower face.
Show us how it is being done through the picture
on the board? (student will demonstrate)
Now that you know how to make the face look
oval by using pale and dark makeup let us
proceed on correcting the chin and the nose. Just
like what we did a while ago we will use brown
and white crayons as an alternative for makeup.
Just to emphasize how it is being done. So the
first one we have. Yes ___? a. Prominent Chin: This can be corrected by
applying dark foundation on the tip of the chin.
Show us how it is being done through the picture
on the board? (student will demonstrate)
How about the next one? b. A Double Chin: This can be corrected by
putting a dark foundation on the double chin.
Show us how it is being done through the picture
on the board? (student will demonstrate)
The next one are all about the nose. We have A
Long Nose, Short Nose, Narrow Nose, and
Crooked Nose. Yes ___? c. A Long Nose: A long nose appears short by
applying dark makeup on the tip.
d. A Broad Nose: For a broad nose apply dark
foundation along each side of the nose.
e. Short Nose: To emphasize a short nose apply
pale makeup along the top of the nose along its
whole length.
f. Narrow Nose: For a narrow nose apply a bright
foundation on each side.
g. Crooked Nose: For a crooked nose, cover the
crooked side with a dark foundation and the
opposite side with a light foundation.
Show us how it is being done through the picture
on the board? (student will demonstrate)
Do you understand class? Yes ma’am
Now let us proceed to blusher. How we will apply
blusher? Yes ____? Applying Blusher: Use the color on the blush
area. This is the part of the face between parallel
lines, one extending outward from the corner of
your eye and the second from the bottom of your
nose. Smile and lightly touch the blusher brush
on the fatty part of the cheek and gently brush
the blusher toward the temple, making a slight
curve.
I will demonstrate first how it is being done on
the right then show us how it is being done on
the left side. (student will demonstrate)
Thank you, after that is the powder. Yes __? Applying Powder Place a generous amount of
face powder on the brush, tapping off any
excess powder. Apply the powder starting from
the front of the face where you want to have the
makeup last longer, such as the cheeks, the
forehead, and around the nose. Then,
spread powder back towards the outer edges of
the face.
I will demonstrate first how it is being done on
the right then show us how it is being done on
the left side. (student will demonstrate)
Thank you, Next let us proceed to eye shadow.
How it is being done. Yes ____? Using a fine, blunt-ended brush, gently apply the
base color to the entire lid from the inside to the
outside corner and from the base of the lashes to
the eyelid crease
I will demonstrate first how it is being done on
the right then show us how it is being done on
the left side. Yes ____? (student will demonstrate)
So what the next thing that we will do? If the eyes need extra definition, a deeper shade
is blended into the crease line. This gives depth
to the eyes.
I will demonstrate first how it is being done on
the right then show us how it is being done on
the left side. Yes ____? (student will demonstrate)
And the last thing that we need to remember?
Yes ___? The brow bone is highlighted with a light shade.
This gives the eyes a wide, open look. The color is
applied to the most prominent area and blended
up towards the brow and down to where the
contour curves down, toward the eyelid creases.
Before using them on the lids, always test the
colors on the back of the hand to test the
intensity. You can use even 3-4 colors, provided
they are blended well. Remember pale tones
emphasize, while deep sooty shades define
I will demonstrate first how it is being done on
the right then show us how it is being done on
the left side. Yes ____? (student will demonstrate)
Thank you, Next let us proceed to eyeliner. Yes
___? Work from the inside of the eye to the outside
corner and keep the line light and even. If you
stop at the corner of the eyes, the effect will be
round and wide-eyed if you continue the line and
sweep it up and out, you would get a more exotic
look.
I will demonstrate first how it is being done on
the right then show us how it is being done on
the left side. (student will demonstrate)
Very good, Next we have mascara, Yes ___? Mascara: For best results, first look down and
brush the top lashes from the roots downwards,
then look up and brush the top lashes upwards.
Then, still looking up, brush color on the lower
lashes. Wait for a minute for them to dry, and
similarly apply a second coat. Finally brush with a
clean dry brush, to separate the lashes
I will demonstrate first how it is being done on
the right then show us how it is being done on
the left side. (student will demonstrate)
Thank you, Now let us proceed on correcting eye
using make up. I will show some picture on how
to correct eye using make up
For Wide-Set Eyes:
For Close-Set Eyes:
For Deep-Set Eyes:
And the last one we will proceed to lip make up.
Yes ___? 1. Outlining With Lip Liner
2. Priming the Lips With A Lip Balancer
3. Filling Up With Lipstick
4. Blotting Off:
5. Final Lip Gloss Application:
Now who can show us how it is being done? (student will demonstrate)
Do you understand class? Yes ma’am
Any question class? None ma’am
V. Generalization
Let us recap of what we have discussed. So who
can give example of basic face shape? Oval, square, round, heart, oblong, diamond
Very good, How about if you have trapezoidal
shape of face how will you correct that? by redefining the lower part with dark foundation
and using light makeup at the temple.
Precisely, How about if you have double chin how
will you correct that? by putting a dark foundation on the double chin.
That’s right, How about if you have a broad nose
how will you correct that? For a broad nose apply dark foundation along
each side of the nose.
Very good, How about if you have a deep-set

not on the lid, where if you want to, you can use
a lighter eye shadow. Line only the lower lid and
extend the line fairly out and up.
Do you have any question? None ma’am
