Ultra Compact Deva Puja – In 10 Minutes

Before the Puja [3 minutes]

1. Repeat 12 times ॐ ॐ नमो नारायणाय ॐ


2. Nirmalya Visarjana
3. Sankalpa – भगळत ् प्रेरणया भगळत ् प्रीत्यथं दे ळऩूजाां कररष्ये
4. ॐ घांटादे ळताभ्यो नमः
5. ॐ ऴांखदे ळताभ्यो नमः
6. If using two kalasha, then Shuddhodaka in one and Gandodaka in another. If using only one kalasha then it is
perhaps due to shortage of time. And hence Shuddhodaka by default.
Touch the kaslasha(s) and do avahana of rupas of Vishnu into it from Surya-antargata Narayana.
ॐ शळवकऱऴदे ळताभ्यो नमः
7. ॐ शळवऩीठदे ळताभ्यो नमः (Imagine the entire brahmanda to be present in the peeta on which God’s idol is going
to be placed. Imagine Vishnu Kurma, Vayu Kurma, Shesha and earth – one on top of another. Think of various
devatas supporting the peeta below and on it. In essence think of the peeta as replica of the entire universe in
which God resides)

Ultra Compact Puja


1. Avahana – Not needed for shalagrama [1/2 minute]
Hold Tulasi in hand and imagine the Vishnu in heart to come out of the nostrils riding the breath. Visualize
holding Vishnu on the Tulasi. Then chant the following.

ॐ ॐ नमो नारायणाय ॐ 12 times


भो स्ळाममन ् जगताां नाथ याळत ् ऩूजाळशानकम ।ताळत्शां प्रीततभाळेन प्रततमायाां स्स्थरो भळ ॥
Afterwards touch the idol with the Tulasi and place it near the Lord’s feet.
2. Upachara before God’s snaana - Give one spoon water with each mantra below [1/2 minute]

a. ॐ नमो नारायणाय अर्घ्यं शमऩवयामम


b. ॐ नमो नारायणाय ऩाद्यां शमऩवयामम
c. ॐ नमो नारायणाय आचमनीयां शमऩवयामम
d. ॐ नमो नारायणाय मधुऩकं शमऩवयामम
e. ॐ नमो नारायणाय ऩुनराचमनां शमऩवयामम
3. Snaana [1-2 minutes]

ॐ नमो नारायणाय स्नानां शमऩवयामम


One can chant Purusha Sukta, Ap sukta or even just Narayana Ashtaxara for abhisheka

4. Upachara after snaana - Give one spoon water with each mantra below [1/2 minute]

a. ॐ नमो नारायणाय ळस्रयग्ु मां शमऩवयामम


b. ॐ नमो नारायणाय वळभूवणां शमऩवयामम
c. ॐ नमो नारायणाय यहोऩळीतां शमऩवयामम
d. ॐ नमो नारायणाय गांधान ् शमऩवयामम
5. Offering of Flowers and optional alankara [1/2 - 2 minutes]

ॐ नमो नारायणाय ऩुष्ऩाणण शमऩवयामम (If there are flowers, place one flower symbolically at God’s feet.) Or
based on time, one can do more alankara with flowers
6. Avarana Puja – [1/2 minute]

Think of Sri Bhu sahita Vishnu and 7 avarana (circular arrangement of Vishnu’s own rupas and other devatas).
The 7 avarana are Kruddholka (5), Vasudeva (4) , Keshava (12), Sankarshana (12), Matsya (10), Brahma,Vayu
Garuda Shesha Rudra with wives, Dikpalaka
Offer one spoon water by saying शळव-आळरण दे ळताभ्यो नमः आळरणऩूजाां शमऩवयामम
7. Dhupa Deepa – Offer one spoon water with each of the following mantra [1/2 minute]

a. ॐ नमो नारायणाय धूऩां आघ्राऩयामम


b. ॐ नमो नारायणाय दीऩां दऴवयामम
8. Naivedya [1-2 minutes]
Choose one of the following naivedya methods
a. Rapid Naivedya
i. Say ॐ नमो नारायणाय नैळेद्यां शमऩवयामम
ii. Offer Naivedya if prepared with a Tulasi. Or one could offer one spoon water as Naivedya
b. Longer Naivedya
i. Sprinkle water around Naivedya saying ॐ भूभुवळस्ळः । शत्यांत्ळतेन ऩररमऴांचामम
ii. Offer one spoon of water saying शश्रीकाय शऩररळाराय नैळेद्यां शमऩवयामम
iii. Offer one spoon of water saying अमत
ृ ोऩस्तरणममश स्ळाषा
iv. Offer 5 spoon water – one for each ॐ प्राणाय स्ळाषा ॐ अऩानाय स्ळाषा ॐ व्यानाय स्ळाषा ॐ
उदानाय स्ळाषा ॐ शमानाय स्ळाषा
v. Offer water again saying मध्ये ऩानीयां शमऩवयामम
vi. Close face with cloth and say 12 times ॐ ॐ नमो नारायणाय ॐ
vii. Offer 1 spoon water saying अमत
ृ ावऩधानममश स्ळाषा
9. Upachara after Naivedya – Offer 1 spoon water for each [1/2 minute]

षस्तप्रसालनां शमऩवयामम । गांडूवां शमऩवयामम । ऩाद्यां शमऩवयामम । मुखळाशः शमऩवयामम । ताांबूऱां शमऩवयामम ।
शुळणवदक्षसणाां शमऩवयामम ।
10. Mangala Neerajana – [1/2 minute to 3 minutes including time for getting mangalarati ready]

a. Do Managalarati saying ॐ ॐ नमो नारायणाय ॐ


b. Or do by saying Purusha Sukta or jayati Harirachintyah based on time and convenience
c. Or one spoon water with anusandhana of arati (when in travel)
11. Namaskara, Pradaxina [1 minute]

12. Mantrapushpa [1/2 minute]

Say the mantra and offer flower - ॐ ॐ नमो नारायणाय ॐ मांरऩुष्ऩां शमऩवयामम
(Optional – One can offer karma pushpa or 8 manasa pushpa with अहषांशा प्रथमां ऩुष्ऩां….)
13. Rajopachara (Optional) – Offer one spoon of water each [1/2 minute]

दऩवणां शमऩवयामम । छरां शमऩवयामम । चामरां शमऩवयामम । ऩादक


ु े शमऩवयामम । नत्ृ यां शमऩवयामम । गीतां शमऩवयामम
। ळाद्यां शमऩवयामम । स्तोरां शमऩवयामम ।
14. Krishnarpana [1/2 minute]

Hold a Tulasi and offer water अनेन दे ळऩूजेन भगळान ् श्री ऱक्ष्मीनारायण प्रीयताां प्रीतो भळतु श्री कृष्णाऩवणमस्तु
15. Naivedya to Laxmi Brahma and others [1/2 minute]
Mentally think that all Vaishnavas – devatas from Laxmi, Brahma, vayu and downwards accept the Naivedya
16. Punaravahana – If you have performed avahana from heart in Step 1, only then [1/2 minute]
Pray to the Vishnu in idol to return to the heart.
याचेषां त्ळाां हृवीकेऴ नमामम ऩुरुवोत्तम। हृदये कुरु शांळाशां श्रश्रया शष जगत्ऩते ॥
