1) Start with one section either Aptitude or Technical.
2) Go to each question in a sequence. 3) If a question is tough and you are unable to solve it then skip it and mark it for later. Come back to such questions at end when time is remaining. 4) Aptitude is very easy in GATE. Try to score full 15 marks to get edge over other aspirants. 5) Revise your mistakes of mock exam and test series before going for exam (VERY IMPORTANT POINT) 6) You just need right approach for paper and need to attempt maximum as in mechanical branch topper marks are very high as compared to other branches.
TIPS BEFORE EXAM:
1) Technical section involves use of formulae and
concepts which are repeated. Previous year’s papers are of great use to judge such repeated formulae and concepts. 2) Get use to online calculator and maintain speed along with accuracy during exam. 3) GATE is not tough so have confidence in yourself and stick to the plan and prepare. 4) During last week before exam don’t read any new topics. Better to revise formulae and notes as much possible. 5) Be calm during last week before exam. You have read enough and have confidence in yourself. 6) Avoid discussing too much with friends in last week as it will disturb your mind when you will find that you have not read a certain topic. It is not necessary that GATE will ask question from that topic itself. If that topic was important you won’t have skipped it.
