Purpose of this assignment

The aim of this assignment is to assess the understanding of Strategic Human Resource Management by
learners and see if they can relate this knowledge to real world organizations and scenarios that they
are likely to encounter in their day to day life.

They are expected to create and develop appropriate scenarios in which the SHRM principles are applied
or are required to be applied in order to enable Organizations achieve their strategic objectives more
effectively and efficiently while providing a very conducive working experience where individual goals
are served in the best interest of the Organizations as well as the Human Resources.

The knowledge, understanding and skill sets that the students will show in this assignment will enhance
their career opportunities, whether setting up their own business or employed by an organization.

Scenario

As a newly appointed Human Resource Manager in “an Organization of your Choice” you
have been tasked with leading on the restructuring of the department as part of an Organizational
Change.

The Human Resources (HR) department will be restructured based on the findings of a review
report, which you have been asked to complete. You are to review the effectiveness of the HR
function within the organisation, researching the role and scope of SHRM and reviewing and
