ABSTRACT
The study of structurally analyzed and designed three-storey parking building was conducted at the Capiz
State University, Main Campus at Fuentes Drive, Roxas City from June 2018 – January 2019.
Generally, this study aimed to structurally analyze and design a three-storey parking building to house the
Capiz State University Stakeholder’s automobiles due to the limited number of parking lot. Specifically, this study
aimed to (1) Investigate the site for the proposed three-storey parking building, (2) Prepare working plans of the
project, (3) Design a three-storey parking building using Structural Load Analysis and Structural Design Analysis (4)
Estimate the cost and duration of the three-storey parking building, and (5) Prepare PERT/CPM of the project.
This study focused on the analysis of loads applied on the structure as well as the design of reinforced
concrete beams, slabs, stair, wall footing, columns and footing. The estimate of the total costs of the project is also
included in this study to determine the total cost and duration of the project.
The preparation of the complete building plans is made possible by using AutoCAD 2017. In designing, the
beams were tabulated that the dimension varies from 350mmx560mm, 230mmx380mm & 240mmx400mm, 4 to 10
pieces, 3 to 8 pieces, 2 to 5 pieces of 25mm, 20mm & 16mm diameter of reinforced steel bars respectively and
stirrups is 10 mm spaced from the critical section of the beam. Concrete slab were designed into two slab system
and one way slab system that resulted to slabs having a uniform thickness of 200 mm with 10 mm diameter.
For column designs, the dimension and reinforcement varies as 450mmx450mm and 650mmx650mm for
square tied columns and 560mm and 690mm diameters for spiral columns, 4 pieces of 25 mm in diameter and 8
pieces of 28 mm in diameter, Lateral ties used were designed to be 10 mm in diameter and spaced at 400 mm and
450 mm vertically of bars respectively. Footing dimensions was designed which variations from 0.36mx2.5mx2.5m,
0.57mx4.0mx4.0m, 0.69mx4.5mx4.5m, 0.82mx5.5mx5.5m and 0.38mx3.0mx3.0m with reinforcement of main bars of
28mm& 32mm diameter and spaced of bars both ways. The wall footing varies from dimension of thickness, length
and width respectively with 0.15mx15.6mx1.4m with reinforcement main bars of 16mm diameter and reinforcement
temperature bars of 10mm diameter and spaced of bars both ways. For stair the designed for trend of stair is 0.25m
and rise of stairs is 2.6m.
The duration of the project is 112 calendar days with a total construction cost of 11,544,931.57 pesos.
