Narrative

In less than two weeks of time, a circle of Accounting and Business

Management (ABM) students conducted a small business that is aimed to circulate the

whole school premises.

The results about the mentioned business will be reported in a form of business

report. This circle of ABM students includes Deia Sonido, Bryan Nicolas, Xela Mae

Leste, Amante Lazaro and Kimberly Domingo.

The initiative to sell products must come and back up with various and trending

ideas. The potential sellers must identify and consider the most common product that

their buyers may probably need or wanted.

As for our group, we intended to sell a product that can be easily sold and catch

the eye of a buyer nowadays and that is a food – the ice candy. Why ice candy?– these

month, we noticed that days have become hotter and more humid for we know that

summer is just weeks away from now. We came up with an idea that selling ice candy

might help the students beat the scorching heat of the day, for ice candy have a sweet

and cold property that can satisfy one's taste buds. Moreover, its preparation will not be

needing much effort and expense. Lastly , the selling price of ice candy that we

recalculated will be convenient to our target buyers and will also add benefit on our

profit system.
For the flavor of our ice candy, we wanted it to be just natural, fruity, and trendy.

We are inspired by the flavor of the current best seller fruit shake here in our town, the

mango graham overload of the Basteakoy located near our town's park.

Since mango is fond for this weather season, we tried to adopt some of its

ingredients and transformed it as an ice candy. First, we need to cook a ¼ kilogram

cassava starch in 8 liters of mineral water to achieve smoothness of the ice candy.

Second melt 1 ¼ kilogram of sugar together with the first ingredients. Then, when the

sugar already melted, add 3 cans of any brand of your preferred condensed milk. While

waiting for all of the ingredients to cool down, scrape two kilogram of mango and blend

only half of it, the other half that is left unblended, will become the bits on your ice

candy. Just add the mango when the mixture has already cooled down to preserve the

fresh flavor of the fruit. Lastly put 1 teaspoon of graham powder or more in each ice

candy plastic wrapper then pour your cooled mixture.

This exact amount of its ingredients will likely produced 200 pieces of ice candy

depending on the size of your plastic wrapper. That 200 pieces of ice candy can

generate our profit for more than half of our capital by selling it 7 pesos each and 20

pesos for 3 pieces.

Monday, February 25

It is the foundation day in our school and started to sell for about 11 am in the

morning. We had a little complication about having things organized since it is our first

time to sell ice candy. We started selling 150 pieces of ice candy at the mean time.

Since it is almost lunchtime, it is difficult to find us buyers that is why we have to

endorse our product with double effort. By 12:30 pm, our product was already sold out

and had a sales of Php 989 and a profit of Pqhp 478.

Tuesday, February 26

We started at 10 am on the morning and 2pm in the afternoon on selling our

product on every room that we get to passed by. We introduced our product by telling

them the price as well as the discounted price we offer for them to be easily convinced.

accumulating Php 1034 sales and profit.

difficult. Nevertheless, todays profit is Php 1030.

Tuesday, March 5

CHAPTER III

INSIGHTS

Having a chance to experience selling and making our own product, we did not

just learned the most visible and practical things that we should have learned like how

to successfully endorse it, how to budget your capital or how to make people like your

product. We also learned how to see the small things out of it, like having the joy with

your group mates while selling , racing unto the next room with the other groups

because your product is exactly similar, getting scolded by some of the advisers

because we are walking between corridors too loud.

For me selling is exciting.

-Deia Sonido

A week of our trade in our product I had a lot of experiences and learned new

lessons, such as how to introduce a product to students or customers . I realized that it's

not hard to sell our product but just a little shy in Sales talk because I'm a very shy

person and in the end it's worth it because they will buy your product because they just

want to be comforted and convince them to buy your product sincerely and tell them

that your product is good then surely they buy your product.

- Bryan Nicolas
Within a week doing this selling activity, i had a lot of experiences that gives me

lessons in life. Like, you shouldn’t be shy to everyone, you must speak and express

what you feel, say what you want, and say what is real, to get more customers and

supporters. We sell this product ( ice candy ) because we know that this is easy and

convenient to eat. And it is also perfect for the hot weather that what students’ need. We

also know that this product is popular with people, that is why we chose to sell this one.

And within a week, we are happy to sell this product because, “Our ice candy makes the

students’ happy”.

- Xela Leste

For my experience selling are not just jokes because selling are just as it is your

life and I learned what to sell if it is up-to-date and sales are needed by diligence,

patience, cooperation and love

- Amante Lazaro

In order to sell your product you have to convince the buyers to buy your product

and you have to communicate well with them. You need to be patient and be active in

selling your goods. You need to be calm when dealing with different people. You should

sell in a careful way without hurrying.

-Kimberly Domingo
CHAPTER IV

Summary

With our starting capital of Php 511 pesos, we manage to grow it earn a sales

worth Php 5096.

To get our profit, we subtract our expenses worth Php 2829 from our total sales.

Generally, we noticed that most of our customers are from grades 7, 8 and 11.

Their positive feedbacks became crucial for it already made a way for us to be easily

trusted with the products we sell, some of them recommend our ice candy to their

friends and so on. With that, we can truly say that the selling we conducted has been

successful.

As a recommendation, students must be provided more time to sell their products

to be able for them not to ruin their class schedule and for the betterment of their selling

experience. The adviser should have told or aware the students of what are the

products that are prohibited to sell inside the school.
