Graduation Promises and Prayers
HOMER: Lord, we worship You as the
first word sounding in the silence of
creation. To you must our first words be
addressed, as we look forward to the
tasks ahead of us. The foundation built
in us by you, Lord, through our parents,
teachers, and priest formators will be
our weapons in meeting the different
challenges in life.
GRADUATES: WE PROMISE TO
LEAD A CHRISTIAN LIFE, A LIFE OF
LOVE IN UNION WITH YOU.
HOMER: Loving Father, we have
received everything from you through
Christ, and in him we promise to feel
your light burning as we share your
word to the world.
GRADUATES: WE PROMISE TO
LEAD A CHRISTIAN LIFE, A LIFE OF
LOVE IN UNION WITH YOU.
HOMER: Your spirit had inspired our
teachers and the administrators to share
the wisdom and knowledge you have
given them for our growth.
GRADUATES: WE PROMISE TO
UPHOLD THE TRUTH, THE
SPIRITUAL AND MORAL PRINCIPLES
WE HAVE ACQUIRED FROM THEM
HOMER: you sent your only begotten
son into this world and through him we
have seen you and your love.
GRADUATES: WE PROMISE TO BE
LIVING WITNESSES OF CHRIST IN
ALL OUR UNDERTAKINGS.
HOMER: God, we call on you, the
source and guide of this great venture, to
open ourselves to what you can do with
us and though us as we put ourselves at
your disposal. Give us the courage to do
what is Christian. Let our thoughts dwell
on this, as we strive to realize our goals
in your church. In this life and in
everything, fill us with your light. We
ask this through Christ our Lord
