In Ancient Egypt, Pharaoh Seti commanded all the guards to kill every newborn Hebrew
boys. Because of the killings happening, Yocheved went to Nile River along with Miriam and
Aaron. As a farewell, she sang a lullaby, placed her newborn son on a basket and used it like
boat sailing to the Emperor’s Palace. Queen Tuya saw the basket and adopted the baby inside of
it, she named him Moses as Miriam witnessed all.

Years had passed, Moses and his brother Rameses heir the throne. Rameses became
Prince Regent and gained authority over Egypt. Hotep and Huy as the highest priest offered
Tzipporah to Rameses as a tribute. Rameses generously gave Tzipporah to Moses and appointed
him as Royal Chief Architect.

When Moses got into his room, he saw Tzipporah escaping and followed her. Moses run
into Miriam and Aaron and didn’t recognize them. As Miriam sang their mother’s lullaby, Moses
memories had been triggered. However, he returned to the palace, he remembered his past
through a nighmare. The next day, Moses accidentally killed an Egyptian Guard and fled to the
desert in exile.

In the desert, Moses defended three young girls from brigands, and found out that the
older sister of the girls was Tzipporah. Moses was welcomed by Jethro, father of Tzipporah.
Moses adopted their culture, became a shepherd and was married to Tzipporah. One day, Moses
chase a stray black lamb and discovered a burning bush, through which God told him to go back
to Egypt and guide the Hebrews to freedom. God bestowed Moses's shepherding staff with his
power and promised that he will guide Moses what to say. Moses and Tzipporah returned to
Egypt and was greeted by Rameses, whose already a Pharaoh with a wife and son.
Moses demanded the Hebrews' release and his staff turned into an Egyptian cobra to
demonstrate his alliance with God. Rather than be persuaded, Rameses doubled the Hebrews'
workload. Moses inflicted nine of the Ten Plagues of Egypt, but still Rameses refused to believe
Moses's warning. Moses prepared the Hebrews for the tenth and final plague, instructed them to
sacrifice a lamb and mark the doorposts with the lamb's blood.

That night, the final plague killed all the firstborn children of Egypt, including Rameses's
son. Finally, Moses was given permission to free the Hebrews by Rameses. The following
morning, the Hebrews left Egypt, led by Moses, Miriam, Aaron, and Tzipporah. At the Red Sea,
they discovered that Rameses is chasing them with his army to kill them. However, a writhing
pillar of fire blocked the army's way, while Moses used his staff to part the sea. The Hebrews
crossed the open sea bottom, the fire vanished and the army ran to chase them, but the water
closed over and drowned the Egyptian soldiers, sparing Rameses alone. Moses sadly bid
farewell to his brother and led the Hebrews to Mount Sinai, where he received the Ten
Commandments.

Brenda Chapman had a hand in some of the most iconic animated movies ever. She's
worked on classics like Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and The Hunchback of Notre
Dame for Disney, and at Pixar, she worked on Wall-E and developed and directed Brave,
featuring the studio's first female protagonist and leading Chapman to become the first
woman ever to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. But the filmmaker was a
groundbreaker long before then. 20 years ago, she became the first woman to direct an
animated film put out by a major studio, The Prince of Egypt. As the film celebrates its 20th
anniversary, Chapman tells Bustle all about how she took a serious biblical tale and
transformed it into one of the most gorgeous animated films of all time, and even helped add
some feminist twists.

The movie Prince of Egypt is related to the World Religion Class. It shows the origin of
Judaism from Moses. It shows the event, “EXODUS” the departure of the Israelites out of
slavery in Egypt, made possible by the ten plagues of Egypt and the parting of the Red Sea. It
also explains the beliefs and religion of the Jews which is Judaism.

Jews believes on the Bible, “the Word of God”, where the movie Prince of Egypt was
adapted from one of this book, Exodus. Watching the movie helps the student to understand
more about the origin of Judaism.

If we will rate the movie from 1-10, the score will be 10. Actors have done their part
perfectly, also the filmmakers and the editors. The voice of the characters really fitted to their
images. The songs was really great. DreamWorks had never been a disappointment. This movie
is not just religious but also educational, adults will also enjoy watching the movie not just the
kids. Watching it is also learning about one of the historical events happened from the origin of
the Jews.
