social media such as Instagram, skype, or other social media that connects you to your family what
will happen? Good morning ladies and gentleman, honorable judges, my lovely committee and
audiences, my name is Kevin Immanuel Siregar, Im from 19th Government Senior High School.
Today in this great occasion, I will deliver my speech about the positive effect of social media to
society relationship ? so in today speech I gonna tell you about what is social media firstly, and
then I gonna tell you how are the users and lastly I gonna tell you what is the positive effect of
social media to society relationship.

So, what is social media ? Expert said social media is a web communication tool that make people
able to interact with each other by both sharing and consuming information, but I say Social Media
is a tool to connect and make people communicate to other easier than before. Why I said so,
because in the current condition by the existence of skype, or other social media that offer video
call or free call facilities we can easily communicate with the one that we love where ever they
are. This is useful especially for those who have long distance relationship not only with their
couple but also for their family. This is what we call as social media.

Second who are the users of social media ? in 2018 there are 4 billion people who use social Media,
its more than a half of human population now days and do you know what does it mean ? it means
that social media has given so much effect to its users especially for people who separated by
distance. This number is growing time by time, the innovation of social media is also unable to
stopped. But the next question in our mind is what is the impact of social media, I mean what is
the positive effect of social media that attract so much people to use it ?

Ladies and gentleman, maybe the previous speakers have told you about the negative effect of
social media to society relation, but one question in our mind, are social media really bad for us ?

The answer is no! Social Media has lot of positive effects the first is as a speed up communication
tool and the way of society to criticize the government, in the current era, people are demanded to
able to communicate to others as soon as possible, this is needed to make them survive in their
daily life because information exchange through message or phone call is an obligatory for
everyone. Social media makes this possible to happen, furthermore because of this speed of data
exchange it makes social media become the place of society to express their aspiration and protest
to government, at the end it make a good check and balance system where the society can directly
criticize the work or government or do report about the problems that they are facing in the real
life. second, it builds bridge over barriers, human have lived so long in their own social circle, it
makes us unable to understand and realize the differs around us, through social media we are able
to make friends with other people where ever they are, and how ever their background is. This cut
the social stratification and social barrier in society, because long ago before social media exist
people tend to communicate with their own tribe or member of social circle and discriminate other
out of their social circle. Last but not least it unleash the potential of society, what do I mean by
this ? do you know justin bieber, awkarin, or other social media artist, without social media they
will not be famous like now further more it helps the society to boost their own economic through
creative economic sector as an evidence we can see how much people who survive and boost their
economic because of the online shop. For all these reason Im proudly say that social media gives
positive effect to society relation.
