Criteria for the QS Scholarships Scheme

QS Scholarships Scheme awards scholarships to international candidates interested in both

undergraduate and postgraduate studies, based on demonstrated academic achievement and an
expressed interest in pursuing higher education in an institution of personal choice or with one
of the QS Scholarships Scheme partners.

Eligibility: Scholarship candidates eligible for assistance must be graduating their high
school and intend to continue their education at business school, college or
university. Consideration will be given to those who register and attend QS
fair(s).
At QS we encourage all the candidates coming from different backgrounds,
to apply for our scholarships, regardless of the country of origin or the
business school or university they have been admitted to.
Application Process:
For scholarships funded directly by QS, scholarships are awarded on an
annual basis and disbursed towards the tuition fees for the relevant year.
There are three steps to the application process:
1. Register, download the QS Events App and attend any of the QS
fairs coming to a city near you.

2. Complete the QS Applicant Survey by clicking here or on the QS

Events App.
3. Choose the scholarship(s) and apply on the website or via the QS
Events App.
Applications to more than one scholarship are accepted, as long as the
relevant essay for each scholarship has been submitted.

QS evaluates the QS- specific scholarships’ applications and the final
winners are announced on www.topmba.com and
www.topuniversities.com accordingly.
Business schools and universities providing scholarships in partnership
with QS are fully responsible for the evaluation of their scholarship
applications and the identification of winners.

Shortlisting Criteria:
The following criteria aim to show what the QS Scholarships Team is
looking for in an application essay:

20% overall presentation and format of the essay

80 % relevance and quality of the content

QS Scholarship Winner:
The QS Scholarship finalists will be contacted by QS Scholarships Team 2-
3 weeks after the scholarship deadline and subsequently the winners will
be announced on our website. If you do not hear personally from us, it is
unlikely that you have been selected as the winner of a QS scholarship.
Due to the high volume of applications the QS Scholarship Team cannot
provide application feedback to all enquiries.

Winner will be interviewed by QS’s editorial team and his/her interview

may be published on www.topuniversities.com/ www.topmba.com
and/or school guides.

For scholarships funded directly by QS, QS is responsible for transferring

the scholarship amount to the winning candidate’s business school or
university, to be used towards tuition fees.

QS SCHOLARSHIPS PARTNERS` SCHOLARSHIPS

QS Scholarships are: QS partners with several institutions, which

• funded directly by QS
• awarded on an annual basis
• paid towards tuition fees at the
institution of study. It can be any
university/ business school, even one not
attending a QS fair.
Listed on both QS websites and the QS
Events App.
After the applications deadline, the QS
Scholarships Team is responsible for
• evaluating QS Scholarships applications
• transferring the scholarship’s value to
the business school/ university to which
the winner has been admitted
QS Scholarship finalists will be contacted
by the QS Scholarships Team 2-3 weeks
after the scholarship deadline. The winners
will be announced on our websites. If you
do not hear directly from us, it is unlikely
that you have been selected as the winner
of a QS scholarship. Due to the high
volume of applications the QS Scholarship
Team cannot provide application feedback
to all enquiries.

At the beginning of your essay, please include: your full name, scholarship title and QS fair you
have attended (including city and year). These words will not count towards the essay’s word
limit.

Apply only to scholarships you are eligible for.

Commonly, students eligible for a scholarship(s) must be:
• graduating their high school;
• intending to continue their education at business school, college or university.
Consideration is given to those who have registered and attended QS fair(s).

SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATION PROCESS

Check your eligibility and begin your application. The following images are the simple steps to
your scholarship application process:

1. Click on ‘’Complete the applicant survey to apply!’’

2. Fill in the applicant survey
3. Click on the links of the scholarship(s) you are interested in

4. Fill in your personal details

Note: the email address provided will be the one used by QS Scholarships Scheme or Business
School/University to get in touch with you regarding your scholarship application
5. Cross check the deadline, read the essay topic and prepare your essay
Note: When you apply for a scholarship, the scholarships teams are going to look for these two
criteria in your essay when shortlisting candidates:
20% overall presentation and format of the essay -> Include your name, essay topic and QS
fair you have attended (example QS World Grad School Tour- London- 2017). These words
will not count towards the essay’s word limit.
80 % relevance and quality of the content -> Upload only relevant to the topic essays.
CV/ Resume, Statement of Purpose and/ or Motivation Letter will NOT be evaluated.

QS encourage candidates coming from diverse backgrounds, to apply for our scholarships,
regardless of the country of origin or the business school or university they have been admitted
to.

6. Upload your essay

Note: Applications to more than one scholarships are accepted, if the relevant essay for each
scholarship has been submitted. You can apply for both QS Leadership and QS Academic
Excellence Scholarships but need to upload the relevant essays. Bear in mind, if you have
attended QS World Grad School Tour event you can NOT apply for MBA scholarships, and vice-
versa.
7. Essay submission notification message
Note: If you see the message below, your application has been successfully submitted and it
is stored in our system. There is no reference number, confirmation email sent after this
message.
