GREETING
With the advance of pediatric cardiology, pediatrician in general
and pediatric cardiologist specifically have to improve their knowledge
and competence in the current treatment of childhood cardiac diseases.
In regard to those objectives that Pediatric Cardiology Update VII
will be held in Palembang on April 6th and 7th, 2019.
The event will encompass exploration of topics frequently
encountered by pediatricians and general practitioners, in hope that
childhood cardiac diseases can be detected as early as possible and
initial treatment can be provided even with limited resources, before
referral to tertiary services.
The Pediatric Cardiology Update VII is organized by Pediatric
Cardiology Working Group in conjunction with the Indonesian
Pediatric Society Branch of South Sumatera, Department of Child
Health of Sriwijaya University Medical Faculty/Dr. Mohammad
Hoesin General Hospital Palembang, and the Indonesian Physicians
Association South Sumatera Region.

Ragit
Ragit is a Traditional Culinary from Palembang. This
food resembles mesh bread from India. The shape can
be triangular, it can also be like a rolled omelet. Usually,
ragit is eaten with curry meat sauce
Pindang
Pindang is a cooking method of boiling ingredients in
salt and certain spices, usually employed to cook fish or
egg. Pindang has preservative property, which used to
extend the shelf life of fish. The technique is native to
Java and Sumatra.
Nasi Minyak
Nasi minyak is a Sumatran dish of cooked rice with
minyak samin (ghee) and spices. In a glimpse, nasi
minyak looks and tastes slightly like nasi kebuli, this is
because both rice dishes are influenced by Indian and
Middle Eastern cuisines.
Lenggang
Lenggang is one of the typical snacks originating from
the City of Palembang and South Sumatra in general.
Lenggang is one type of variant of pempek whose
cooking process is done by baking. . Like the other,
pempek lenggang is also enjoyed with cuko sauce as a
complement
Gandus Cake
Gandus, which has a soft and sticky texture and made
small in size has a chili and savory taste. Gandus is
made from rice and starch flour its also usually eaten
with ebi or dried shredded meat, celery leaves, chunks
of fried onion, and chopped red peppers. This cake is
usually sold traditional market.

Es Kacang Merah
Are shave ices served with red kidney beans which is
already soaked and boiled to remove their toxic contents,
coconut milk, palm sugar, and sweet condensed milk.
The combination of coconut milk, palm sugar and
condensed milk are magical, lending a seamless blend
of creamy and sweet essence to the drink.
Burgo
Burgo is one of Palembang’s dishes with coconut milk
sauce. Made from rice flour, the dish is given a splash of
savory thick sauce. Burgo is eaten with a thick, savory
sauce. Formed from coconut milk and various spices.
Pempek
Pempek is one of signature dishes from South Sumatera.
Pempek is typical of fish cake that made of fish meat and
tapioca powder and spices, and it serve with sweet and
sour sauce called Cuko or Cuko, which typical of brown
sugar vinegar, that made of brown sugar, vinegar, chili,
garlic and salt.
Tekwan
Tekwan is a fish soup typical of Palembang. The fish
cakes are made from the dough of fish and tapioca similar
to pempek. Presented in shrimp broth with a distinctive
flavor, served with rice vermicelli, mushrooms, sliced
jicama, and sprinkled with sliced fresh celery, scallion
and fried shallot.
Otak-Otak
Otak-otak is a grilled fish cake made of ground fish meat
mixed with tapioca starch and spices. It is widely known
across Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia,Malaysia
and Singapore, where it is traditionally served fresh,
wrapped inside a banana leaf.

Model
The model is basically made from the same mixture
with pempek kapal selam. The difference is, the model
is filled with tofu and fried before serving. When served,
the model is mixed with a broth made from shrimp broth.
Mie Celor
Mie Celor is a noodle dish served in a mixture of
coconut milk and broth ebi (dried shrimp), mixed with
sprouts and served with sliced boiled eggs, sprinkled
with celery slices, leeks and fried onions. The size of
the noodles used is bigger, such as Aceh Noodles or
Japanese Udon noodles.

Palembang LRT
The Palembang LRT is Indonesia’s first intra-city
light rail transit system connecting Sultan Mahmud
Badaruddin II International Airport and Jakabaring
Sports City via the city center. The line was completed
just in time for the 2018 Asian Games, and is now a main
mode of public transport for the people of Palembang.
Belida Monument
Monumen Iwak Belido. This monument is located on
the side of Musi River, the habitat of belida fish. From
the mouth of this 12 meter monument, water will pour
out as that the Merlion in Singapore.
Musi River
Musi River is one of South Sumatra icon and becomes
the longest river in Sumatra Island. It has 750 km length
and it splitting into two parts. Ampera Bridge that
became an icon of Palembang is passed over this river.

Al-Akbar Giant Qur’an Wood Carving
Al-Qur’an named Al-Akbar is touted as the largest
wood-carving and the first in the world in the form of
30 juz Al-Qur’an. Made from Tembesu wood, carved
with special Palembang wood-carving style. Consisting
of 2 meters height of wood-sheets with about 1.5 meters
width.
Jakabaring
Jakabaring Sport City is an integrated sports facility
complex in Palembang. The complex is located 5
kilometers southeast of Palembang city center, across
the Musi river by the Ampera Bridge in Jakabaring,
Seberang Ulu I area. Jakabaring is one of the largest
stadiums in Indonesia.
Kemaro Island
Kemaro Island is one of most popular destinations in
South Sumatera. This island is located in a small delta of
Musi River, about 6km downstream of Ampera Bridge.
It precisely located for about 40km from Palembang.
When visiting Kemaro Island, there will be a Chinese
Vihara or Klenteng with 9 stairs.
Songket
Songket is a fabric that belongs to the brocade family of
textiles. It is hand-woven in silk or cotton, and intricately
patterned with gold or silver threads. Palembang songket
have various names according their motifs.
Blongket
Blongket is a blend of songongs and blongsong. So,
songket motifs will be exposed neatly on a woven fabric
in the open. In addition, there is a seven-point motif that
is typical of Palembang.

This blongsong is one of the traditional fabrics that has
beautiful motifs and colors because it is made from
woven silk fabrics or ordinary cotton yarn, commonly
used by adult women or young mothers
