Annex B: Technical Specification for High Volume Low Speed (HVLS) fans for
MGS canteen
1. The proposal must include:
 Product of Country of manufacturing.

 Multi blades and ceiling mounted. Fan’s blade and parts to be made of
corrosion resistant material.

 Coverage of the required area as per attached canteen layout. Contractor to


conduct site measurement at the time of site visit.

 Noise level at maximum speed shall not exceeding 55dBA.

 Safely secured with a steel safety cables to the existing building structure. The
safety cables must be tested and proven to be able to hold the weight of a HVLS
fan unit. Vendor to provide safety feature details.

 To include a wall mounted remote control with a secure key lock box. It shall
have on/off switch, LED screen monitor to display and control fan operations
and simple diagnostic messages on fan’s faulty system.

 The vendor must handles all warranties without school to manufacturers or


agencies.
 At least 6 months on-site warranty which covers all parts, components and
labour cost. In addition, the Motor, Drive, Controller, Hub and Air Foil and
components that is factory-fitted should carries a warranty of at least 2 years
against defects. Vendor is to include 2 safety checks annually during the
warranty period.

2. Work scope/procedure (Installation)

 To terminate and dismantle existing 2 existing ceiling fans.

 Proposed work scope must be endorsed by a professional engineer to


ensure that installation (mechanical and electrical work) is in good and safe
order. This include to make-good existing ceiling/beam for installation of the fan
mounting structures or relocation of new fan at new point whichever applicable.
Vendor must provide safety certifications of the mounting support and other
accessories connected to the building structures and HVLS fan.

 All electrical works shall comply with the Electrical Act and Regulations and
Installation Code of Practice and to be done by legal Licensed Electrical Worker
registered with Energy Market Authority.

 On-site vendor project manager or supervisor during the period of the project
work to liaise with school OM with regards to project matters. He/she will take

full responsibility for the safety and welfare of the workers to ensure smooth
operation.

 Vendor to comply with all necessary safety measures as per WSH regulations
before commencement of project work which include submission of risk
management plan one week before actual installation.

 Vendor to submit the planned work schedule at least 2 weeks before actual
installation to school.

 To observe and note the overhead fan safety clearance from the fans installed
and the canteen users on the ground.

 Upon completion of installation, necessary testing and checks must be


conducted and recorded (with signatures) by a qualified personnel before
handing over to school.

3. Proposed quotation must include all shipping, transportation and manpower


related cost inclusive of installation and removal of items at Methodist Girls’ School
canteen.

4. Vendor must deliver the items, commence work on the 6 Jun and completion no
later than 21 Jun 2019. All work has to be done between 6 to 21 June 2019, from
8am to 5.30pm.
