An accomplishment report on the argao district 2 teacher’s


summer break in-service training 2019

T he teaching staffs of Argao School District II together with their Public School
District Supervisor, Mr. Elias P. Concha and School Heads organized a Seminar-
Workshop regarding on positive discipline and cyber safety on May 27-30, 2019
at Guiwanon Elementary School.

The program started with a prayer led by Mr. Rodrigo Davide, followed by the singing of
national anthem conducted by Ms. Ruby Ann M. Mallari and an energizer through the effort of
welcome everyone warmly on the first day.

On the first day, Mrs. Imelda Gealon, as the Over-all Chairman of the said activity, opened
the training with the levelling of expectations. She also emphasizes the DEPED vision, mission
and core values. The topic about positive discipline in everyday teaching becomes the highlight of
the day’s activity. The legal bases for prohibiting corporal punishment and the practice of positive
discipline had also been discussed.

On the second day, DEPED Child Protection Policy highlighted the different policies and
guidelines on protecting the children in school from abuse, violence, exploitation, discrimination,
bullying and other forms of abuse. Through the effort of Mrs. Elma Larumbe, she tackled the
establishment of Child Protection Committee in school, its composition as well as its functions.

On the third day, the seminar about cyber safety was introduced by Mrs. Jhesna Panerio.
She talks about cyber safety and cyber bullying. She also showed us a video about cyber trafficking
and how the dark web are utilized by traffickers to recruit and sell victims of human trafficking.

On the fourth day, a mock up teaching demonstration was conducted by some selected
teachers from different schools highlighting the theme positive discipline and cyber safety in
school. After the demonstration, selected teachers from the elementary and secondary level served
as classroom observers. They also provide feedback and observations of the teaching
demonstration.
The program ended with the sharing of impression of some teachers from elementary
and secondary level of Argao II and the awarding of certificates of all the teachers as well as the
people behind making the event a successful one.
