cause severe personal injury or property damage. If you wish to avoid the adverse effects of fine particles
in the air, it is best to move the package to a cleaner
room or obtain cooling air from a cleaner area. Note
that if duct work is necessary it must produce less
than a .15" water column pressure drop, otherwise the
compressor will not receive enough cooling air flow
and will overheat and shut down.

These filters are also NOT intended to be used in

place of High Dust Inlet Filters. Inlet air must be very
clean to ensure long compressor life. The Panel Filters
are coarse filters, and will pass particles five times as
large as the standard inlet filter. If you have an applica-
tion which requires a High Dust Filter, an Inlet Panel
Air Filter Assembly will NOT eliminate that need.

greater than 50 microns (lint, pollen, etc.).These larger
particles are the ones which cause most cooler foul-

and the covers, the pre-filter screen can be installed.
This fits into the end of the box in much the same way
as a window screen goes into a window. Lift the upper
edge of the screen into the top lip on the outside of the
box, and then set the bottom edge of the screen down
into the bottom lip on the outside of the box.

The Inlet Panel Air Filter is now ready for operation.

3.0 MAINTENANCE
The panel filter elements need to be removed from the
filter box and cleaned whenever they appear dirty. If
dirt is allowed to build up on the filter media, the airend
discharge temperature will begin to rise. Eventually,

3.1 REPLACING HOOK AND LOOP FASTENERS

These fasteners only need to be replaced if they

become damaged.

In order to ensure that the hook and loop fasteners

(lR# 39198734 and 39198742 used in the panel filter
assemblies adhere properly to the surfaces to Which
they are applied, the following procedures must be fol-
lowed.

1. Prior to application, the surface on which the fas-

tener is to be applied should be wiped down with an
Isopropanol (alcohol)/water mixture (50/50%), or with
heptane or methylehylketone, and allowed to dry. This
treatment removes contaminants like oils which inter-
fere with the bonding of the adhesive.

2.The fastener should be applied to the cleaned area

at temperatures above 68° F (20°C), taking care not
to touch the adhesive surface. Oils from the skin will
reduce the bonding strength of the adhesive.

3.The fastener is to be applied with firm rolling pres-

sure (a deliberate press with the thumb should be suf-
ficient) and allowed to bond for at least one hour
before the fastener is pulled on (hook and loop can be
put together, but do not separate again for at least
one hour). Full bonding occurs after 24 hours.
