CHILDHOOD

His name is Ali Tamat Harahap, he

was born on the new Gumarupu on August

12, 1984, he was the eighth child of the

Nine brothers, the baby of the H.

Bandaharo Sutan and HJ couples. Eve

Graduation is a family nickname given by

the family, namely the daily calls of

family and village. He was born into a very

modest family and was approved as a

farmer.

Meanwhile, he was a farmer, while

he was a housewife who supported his

2

nine children. Meanwhile, the paddy fields

they need are very far from the

township, it takes hours and hours to go

to the bottom and must pass through

muddy inter-village paths and scrub.

Since they were young, they

excluded village children in general, they

were happy with simplicity and always

independent, able to make things that

were usually done by some brothers and

sisters before they went to wander and

live in your place to go to school far from

their parents.

They always come to work after

school to go to the rice fields to help

3

their parents who have worked there

early in the morning, even though they

are tired because various activities in the

school have to go to the fields too,

because if so, parents will be scolded

because child support is needed to pursue

agricultural business which is highly

expected to support livelihood efforts to

meet the needs of the family of 9

brothers.

When it opened 6 years, he

started his education at SDN 1 Sukamulia

portibi for 6 years. The distance from

the house to the elementary school, which

is 2 kilometers away, by walking and going

4

back and returning, it must also pass

through rice fields and community

gardens. at that time the elementary

school was an early education for children

to kindergarten or audible schools not yet

in that area.

At the age of 6 years directly

elementary school with that age he was

required to inform the weather situation

so as not to go to school during the rainy

season .

The road that will be passed will

be flooded and even flooded, for that

starting from home must open shoes or

carry them because the road that is

5

passed is finished mud and slippery, even

if it is flooded it cannot go to school.

Such conditions sometimes make

school clothes and shoes worn already

dirty because of splashes of water and

mud. But that did not make the spirit of

low tide to continue school until

graduation.

After Ali graduated from

elementary school (SD) he continued his

education to a higher level, namely junior

high school (SLTP) in one of the private

madrash tsanawiyah lodged in the Al-

Bahriyah gumarupu.
6

At this boarding school he was

educated for three years there and then

he graduated in 1999, after graduating

from Tsanawiyah at that time he was

known to students .

who were quite diligent in school, because

the distance between the house and

school was closer than the elementary

school, but the habit to help his parents

after school he still does it according to

the work that his age can do.

Sometimes when he comes home

from school he feels hungry but when he

gets home all the families have gone to

the ground and the house is locked, with

7

hunger and tiredness he has to walk 3

kilometers again following the kesawah

family by wearing a school uniform.

At that time, there were no

children who had pocket money, even if

they were given money, the place for

snacks was quite far away and even then

it didn't sell at all.

On weekends new parents gave

pocket money and even then only a little

was enough to buy 2 banana fries, this

happened because the economic burden of

parents was quite minimal to finance their

9 brothers.
8

But not so for children whose

parents have a decent income, he can buy

snacks of some kind and sometimes toys,

sometimes it makes sense of jealousy to

see those who live better at that time,

even he saw there were some children

who did not it seems that you have to

work with your parents.

After school During middle school

he also included students who had good

achievements, and very much wanted to

continue his education to a higher school

and to the city, so he chose the Madrasah

Aliyah in one of the cities there happened

to be his older brother who lived and was

9

married was married. Leaving the

hometown to school in a better place also

reduces the burden on parents because

they all prefer schools far from their

hometown and live with relatives in the

city. At the Sibolga City Islamic Senior

High School, he continued his studies and

stayed with his brother.

At the beginning of school there

he was still able to follow the activities of

the school diligently and disciplined, but

in class III he began to be affected by a

small number of friends who often had

problems at school and even began acting

like stubborn and unruly students.

10

Even though it was a little

affected by delinquency but if told to do

the assignment, surely he wanted and he

also meant students who were smart and

still getting rank 3 to 6 during MAN

Sibolga.

The desert also often gives

directly to her sister that Ali often

behaves that is not in accordance with

the rules of the school, the teacher tells

his brother that his brother is starting

to stubborn at school sometimes going out

during the lesson for example in Arabic

when he is sure to come out sometimes

room (pull out) so that the teacher often

11

gives punishment the next day. However,

because the teacher is a neighbor with

her sister's house, she often tells stories

and tells her sister that she is starting to

stubborn.

But his brother already knew

about it because often when he came

home from school he did not go straight

home, immediately went with his friend

where to go without telling beforehand.

This sometimes makes him feel worried

about something happening because he

should go home.
12

During the school he preferred to

be friends with his friends who had

decent economic abilities.

Not arbitrarily choosing friends

with the aim of being able to use friends

to be able to follow various habits of his

age, there was even one of his friends

who came from a neighboring village and

both lived in a family house, that

neighbors with him at his brother's house

so when at home he It was very familiar

with his friend.

Because ,they were also fellow

citizens from the village but at school and

at rest he never wanted to be friends

13

with his neighbor because .he said that he

didn't like to be friends with him because

he always complained to him how he is at

school.

Help it clean the house and if it is

Sunday, he will always scrub clothes.

although sometimes his brother likes to

be angry because of his affection for his

brother so he doesn't want his brother to

be a bad person.

Where he is, he has two nieces and

nephews that he must take care of every

day if he has a lot of work. but actually

he was saying to his nephew. but

sometimes he wanted if his nephew had

14

cried one for sure he was angry - angry,

he was always scolded because often for

his nephew crying but he always made his

nephew cry that number 1 .

Because his number one niece was

the ones who cry most often are that

they like to disturb and scold this child,

there and settle until he graduated and

obtained his diploma in 2003 with the

birth of his nephew no. 4 he .

Finally graduated and obtained a

diploma with good grades, after 3 years

he underwent High school lived with his

brother and he also wanted to continue

15

his dreams to apply for police in Jakarta

where his brother lived.

At that time he was sent by his

brother to go to Jakarta, there was a

feeling of emotion and sadness mixed up.

because he had to let go of his sister who

had been with him for 3 years to go to

work in Jakarta to apply for work,

because he had to go to find a place to

work.

Never before had he been

through it. when I want to leave for

Jakarta, I am given food, I give advice,

hopefully he can get a job quickly and be

healthy, when he leaves he is given a

16

money of 500 for Jakarta, which he owes

to give his money to his brother, which he

says the most.

Before he left, he and his brother

advised him until they all cried and felt

very deep sadness because they had to

let his sister go to watch people who had

never been through at all.

At that school he had to take an

angkot the first few times to ride the

angkot only to the bottom he had to walk

from the bottom up. because the school,

went up the mountain so it had to walk up

the road which was 3 kilometers far,

17

because at that time there was no public

transportation access at that time .

First when he came home from

school he had to go fishing to the sea

because the disibolga area was a coastal

area so he had to go fishing every day

after school because, to reduce the cost

so that the bait would be cooked for a

day.

Because at that time the economy

would not be too much because the new

PNS is not so much, the salary is just

enough to eat. at her sister's place she

was not just silent she always worked

rubbing to help her sister, and guarding

18

her niece sometimes he always worked on

household matters.

AT THE ADULT HOOD

At the time when he arrived in Jakarta

alone and came without being picked up,

he was only told where he had to look for

where his brother lived by just asking

people.

Because at that time there was no

cellphone to call and communicate so he

had to find his own address. with the

right money, he went to Jakarta and

looked for an address that had never

19

been undertaken before because before

he left, he had told him that he was

already big, no need to be spoiled - try to

have to brave yourself everywhere.

Finally after a long time he

searched the address of his brother's

house he found it and met his brother in

Jakarta, his brother was a police officer

who had graduated, so he told his younger

brother to come .

Because he wanted to apply to the

police to Jakarta to reduce the burden on

the parents, at when he was in high school

there was no sense he was aspiring to

become a police officer, he actually

20

aspired to become an ustad because he

graduated from Tsanawiyah and Aliyah so

the basis was already .there so he did not

think of wanting to be a force before or

the police.

When during the police test his

brother did not want to take him to the

test place. while at that time he did not

have a penny to go there.

He went to his brother's test

place to take an angkot, until the night

after the test he didn't know to go home

because he didn't know the way home.

then his brother picked him up to the

place he applied for, but he was not with

21

his brother, his brother told him to go

home by himself and be put on an angkot

so he would be independent. he went alone

with an address that was just said and he

did not know where or where .

Only told to take an angkot and

not know the direction of the road where

to go, when he returned from the test

.place he did not know the way

home he was lost until finally he had to

walk away to go home to his brother,

which he did not know where it was

because it's your first time until finally

22

he arrived at his brother's place at that

time feeling tired tired faced after the

test and had to walk so far to go home

and until the house was not angry because

he was home for a long time.

His brother had resaha looking for

him everywhere because of fear of

straying. At that time the first test he

failed was because they had no

experience, not knowing how to graduate

and not knowing the movements in the

police, after he failed the first test he

did not despair he waited until next year

to wait for the application to open, he

23

waited with applying for work in one of

the malls in Jakarta.

For 10 months in one mall, after

leaving work, he opened the application,

and he tried again. He tried the police for

two years.

One year he did not graduate, and

the next year he tried again and finally

with his sustenance and effort after and

after 1 in the failed year he finally

graduated from the police force in 2005

he was appointed with the rank of bripka.

24

His family and brother's gratitude

was very grateful because his brother

could enter and graduate in the class.

after graduating from education in

Jakarta, and for a number of years after

he was educated he sent a letter to his

brother who was arrested.

Because at that time there was no

cellphone so only correspondence was

available at that time. he sent a letter

through his husbands husband. who

contained that, he was grateful to be able

to pass the class and he apologized.

That as long as he stayed with

them he was always troublesome and

25

always made trouble and he also thanked

him for this and his brother's husband.

at that time, he said, crying, reading the

letter, feeling that pride was visible from

the face of his brother who was happy to

see his younger brother pass and boast.

after education he was placed in

Kalimantan, at that time the family was

sad because they were far away and

placed in the Sulawesi area for years if

the actions of the superiors who moved

did not move, and

After a few years he stayed and

settled the task in Sulawesi and finally he

was moved to another place Furthermore,

26

in Kaliamantan, there was a place there

because at that time there was a conflict

there, so he was one of the forces sent

there, worried that the family would all

increase.

Because they knew that there was

another large-scale conflict and there

were many police and had died to fight

them and secure them.

The family at that time did not

stop praying because of the fear that was

so deep there that he stayed in the room

for several years until he lived with

someone who was well said who wanted to

27

give him a place to live or boarding at

that time.

He lived with non-Muslim people

but it was good so if he prayed that his

child must have seen, after the conflict in

Sulawesi it was over, finally all the

families were dead and called at that time

their sister was there, and the news was

that his sister .

Was fine and he got awards with

trophies and promotion awards because

they joined one of the members sent

28

there to ease the riots that occurred at

the time.

Then because of the fear of the

family who was spending time with her

sister because they were afraid of her

sister there for too long and did not

return home afraid that her sister.

Would settle down and finally her

brother who took care of her to return to

the Jakarta office, some thaun had left

if he could move to Jakarta , because

they were afraid to get used to it and did

not want to go home again.

29

Finally he moved from Poso police

station on June 17, 2011 from the Central

Sulawesi Regional Police to the West Java

Regional Police. and he finally settled in

Diasana and worked .

There at his place in Bandung, even

though he was there boarding because his

workplace and brother's place of

residence were quite far away.

When he came home from poso and

was put on hold, he had vowed to make a

thanksgiving to feed a village if he could

30

move from Poso and finally his vows were

reached and he returned to the village to

do the vows and carry out the diasana.

there are many, families who want to

meet ,because they have not been home

for a long time starting from Tammat

High School until he was employed and

placed in a room until then he never went

home so when he saw it.

People were surprised because it

had been a long time, surely the face and

style were different , they were shocked

to see his very tall body and long hair, like

a western person with a white face. the

31

family's happiness all emanated clearly on

their faces at that time they 9 brothers

came to see and meet .

Their sister who they had not met

for a long time, and their parents could

not hold back their longing and feeling for

their smallest child for many years, they

must have been very sad, and when they

met there was a deep desire for himself

and his family.

32

MARRIED
When they want to return to their

village before they arrive from the field,

they first go to the village, so they intend

to match this late Ali with a girl named

Nurdamayanti.

But they have said that before to

him because they like to see the girl, he

said the girl is good and her family is also

good at matching it is the reason that

they are in the language of batak or her

father's sister whose house happens to

be neighboring the girl's house, so they

intend to match it to this girl and bring

33

them together, after returning from the

village they invited her to the girl's house

but she did not want to because she said .

that she was trying to be matched - just

like someone else like that she said

because this girl's father was very, like

and want one family with their family so

that his father's younger brother has

often said and forced him to want and

marry the woman.

Because this woman's father had

indeed longed for one family to establish

a family with their family, because they

had previously arranged for their brother

34

to be married to his girl's friend, but his

brother did not want to because he

already had a girlfriend and had a

candidate for his companion.

So they want this one not to be

done again because indeed their younger

sister also wants to be paired with this

girl's brother, so they want to drop this

family in a big way until they want

anything as long as it becomes.

But at first he did not want it

because he said he already had a

boyfriend in Java, so it was impossible to

35

leave him, so they had time to be friends

and connect via cellphone and get to know

each other and see each other's

character and know each other.

This woman also went to see the

birth to meet this man and his family did

not want to or not with this girl because

he said they were the ones who did it and

felt it later, which is up to them because

it might not be forced when it doesn't

want to be why use it.

Long for a few months they met

finally they got married on October 29,

36

2012. did not know why they finally

decided to get married because it was

indeed this girl who really was, but he did

not want it because he said he was trying

to be matched - just like someone else

and like that he said .

Because this girl's father was

very, like and wanted a family with their

family so his father's younger brother

had often said and forced him to want

and married the woman. because this

woman's father had indeed longed for one

family to establish a family with their

family, because they had previously

37

arranged for their brother to be married

to his girl's friend.

But his brother did not want to

because he already had a girlfriend and

had a candidate for his companion.

They want this one not to be done

again because indeed their younger sister

also wants to be paired with this girl's

brother, so they want to drop this family

in a big way until they want anything as

long as it becomes.
38

But at first he did not want it

because he said he already had a

boyfriend in Java, so it was impossible to

leave him, so they had time to be friends

and connect via cellphone and get to know

each other, and see each other's

character and know each other.

This woman also went to see the

birth to meet this man and his family did

not want to or not with this girl because

he said they were the ones who did it and

felt it later, which is up to them because

it might not be forced when it doesn't

want to be why use it.

39

Long for a few months they met

finally they got married on October 29,

2012. did not know why they finally

decided to get married because it was

originally this girl who really wanted to

marry him.

And had been asked by the family

if he finally decided to marry this woman

who at all he did not love and he did not

know at all with this woman who would

become his wife. and they finally married

with absolutely no character of each

character and indeed did not know each

other at all, and they also told the family

40

all that they will hold a wedding that will

be held that is where the woman is in the

palace, and the party is festive because

she for Batak custom or mandailing

custom used.

Finally they were called the term

if in batak and this woman after marriage

and after the party was brought directly

to the village to be disantan if in brick

terms. and in the village they were also

partyed by the traditional leaders in the

village and cut the kerbo to eat one

village if there was a village.

41

They were partyed for three days

and 2 nights there. and up to a few weeks

they were there after the party they

went home to do their respective

activities, namely with their work this

woman had previously worked.

Civil servants in one of the urban

village offices, while those who were far

apart were very poor because they moved

again because of women or wives he did

not want to move from the field of birth.

so he had to move from Bandung to the

Regional Police, finally he took care of his

transfer letter and carried out

42

everything that needed to be taken care

of until.

Finally they ended a house and

residence even though for several months

they were far apart sometimes it is

different from the one who comes to him

and sometimes his wife who comes to

leave for one year at a time when they

are gone.

And from their marriage they

sounded a child born on July 20, 2013,

named Naufal Ramadhan Harahap who was

male who was born during the month of

43

Ramadhan and was given the name

Ramadhan because it coincided with the

holy month of Ramadan.

Already have one child they are

still far apart still sometimes going home

so it was until finally they finished taking

care of moving.

And at the age of his child a few

months had been carried on board the

plane because his wife wanted to meet

him.
44

Because the limitations of time and leave

should not be much, eventually they

helped the child to meet with his father

and they went there.

45

Challenges in Life

The hardest challenge in his

life is when he has to struggle on his

own to support himself and fight so

that the ideals he gets can be

achieved.

With the right costs, you have

to go here and there for a police

test for the dreams you want to

have.
46

Even though sometimes it is

hopeless because the average cost

of the person is spent and what he

has is very much and must be willing

to be angry and shouted. .

Because far from the parents

they have to fend for themselves or

people for the ideals they want to

have.

And for the sake of that he

went astray and had time when he

wanted to move from Sulawesi but

47

until some knew it could not even

though all the effort had been made

to take care of his move.

Until he had time to stay

there for 7 years and serve there

far away from people who were not.

he know.

After school, they have to go

to the garden to meet their needs

and the road that must be traveled

48

by tens of kilometers must be

passed.

After graduating, he was sent

to university for 4 months and he

was placed in a place where he was

discharged, but there had not been

a year there, he had been sent to

send him.

Because there were riots

there, finally he asked his brother

for help but could not, so he had to

49

live for 5 years. living there is

Sulawesi.

FAMILY

They were 9 brothers 6 men and

three women, of which nine have now

succeeded. with their titles 5 each

becoming a police officer, 2 civil servants

and one midwife and the other who

settled in the village working as farmers.

In all of their families, all of them were

suskses and were successfully monitored

by people.
50

After they all succeeded and

finally they registered and promoted

their father and mother.

God and his mother were very

happy and the village people were also

very happy to see their families who could

be very solid because of their love for

their mother. And they wanted to make

their parents happy and their parents the

luckiest person has a great mother and

father.

And so does his parents who are

very proud of his children who are now as

absent and can make his parents happy

today. and his family is a family that

51

becomes a role model and becomes an

example in the area.

Where they live because they are

very fond of the elderly and there have

always been no fights between their

families both small and big. And even

though they always remember their

families. His parents also often visited

their nine brothers.

52

ACHIEVEMENT

so far the happiest

achievement in his life was when he

could provide something of value to

his parents because he was very

active in working on the

achievements.

He had that he graduated into

the class with good results even

though there had been obstacles at

53

the beginning because lack of

knowledge.

Previously about who wanted

to enter this class, namely in terms

of information but because from the

village and only the first time .

They heard and underwent it

they didn't know anything. and

reaching it again he got a certificate

of appreciation and promotion

because he joined one of the envoys

.who would secure the riots at that

exact moment, in Sulawesi.

54

The greatest achievement in

his life is that he has been able to

make his parents happy and improve

his parents.

Although it is not comparable

to what his parents gave him so far

and until now he has lived all in

sufficiency and his parents too.

because of the results of hard work

both of his parents and for hard

work too.
55

BENEFITS OF BOOKS FOR READERS

in this book there are many things

that are useful and if anyone wants to

read me, the advice is very read,

especially for students.

Because here I am telling you how

a life that is inadequate but can, become

successful and become a person. and the

benefits of this book are very much

especially in the field of education, so one

who fights for himself or someone to

fulfill his needs and eat without knowing

56

him there, and I also want to motivate

readers to see the benefits of this book

by reading this book we will know better

how the real meaning of life.

They are people who are difficult

and have many brothers but can be

successful all without exception and have

a high rank even though atyah is a farmer

whose income is nothing compared to the

people around him.

From here, let us take the

benefits and live lessons, even though our

situation is as difficult as anything, do

not leave education because education is

57

very important for ourselves. And with

this we can also know how difficult it is if

we do not have anything but want to go to

school but with strict determination , and

the enthusiasm finally all passed well even

though sometimes life is not as long as it

is straight.

So learning for readers sees how

their parents struggle to send them to

school and graduate and work in places

that have a lot of income.

And experience besides this book

also has the benefit of being a reference

for readers to make themselves better

58

and become role models in terms of what

is included in the biography itself.

How can we be grateful for What

we have now, and not much to complain.

Apparently there are people who are

more difficult to struggle for life.

While in school until they get jobs

like now.and as a matter of self-

motivation that success is not that easy

to get it needs a hard struggle and many

challenges that must be passed to pass

the test it self.

59

And how to fight for life in the village of

people who don't know where it is. and v

has never been carried out at all to go

through for the ideals to be achieved.

So to achieve success it is not

instantly obtained but there must be a

very hard struggle. and challenges that

are not easy to go through are sometimes

the challenges that come from our own

families. How do we fight for life in our

lives.
60

This book is a reference for

readers so that before writing the

biography, first look at any data that we

are going to be dancing.

Biography or not because it makes

the biography interesting to be seen by

people and becomes a motivation for the

reader to be like the person we become

the subject we will become biography.
