PROJECTS
Student Research Fair (2017) - “Oops, I Did It Again - Calculating gender
differences in relationship regret among college-aged individuals”
My senior research poster, this project sought to explore the experience of
Tinder users by analyzing what the service was like for college students and
what kind of effects the app was having on their lives in general.
The research made predictions about what kinds of reasons individuals would cite
for regretting their interactions on the app. We analyzed these predictions by
recording responses to open-ended questions, comparing these responses to our
hypotheses, and then assessing the resulting implications for standing theory,
future research, user-centered application development and beyond. We succeeded
in confirming several of our hypotheses while also finding novel hypotheses
about gender on Tinder.
