Disaster Management Plan

A Disaster Management Plan clearly defines the processes to be followed in the event of an emergency
occurring during a planned Special Event.

1. Event Description

Event Name: BANTOG 2019

Event Date: June 12, 2019

Location of Event: Gov. Feliciano Leviste Gymnasium

Pablo Borbon Main I

Activities: Presentation of talents and skills of each cultural organization

: Awarding of each Organization’s BANTOG (Pinakamahusay sa Kultura at Sining)

Expected number of attendees: 200 Guests

Event operating hours: 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.

2. Audience Management

Emergency drills should include a pre-event walk through by the House Manager who will ensure that all
ushers are aware of any evacuation procedures in place.

In case of an emergency, the ushers will guide the guests and participants of the event into the designated
exits of the venue. The ushers must stay calm in guiding guests safely outside of the venue.

In case of FIRE AND EXPLOSION:

Should any usher discover smoke or fire:

1. Assess the situation and potential for evacuation.

2. Remove anyone in the immediate vicinity if it is safe to do so.

3. Call 911 (Emergency Services).

4. If trained – attempt to extinguish the fire with appropriate fire extinguisher.

5. Notify the House Manager.

6. The House Manager will assess the situation and commence evacuation if deemed necessary.

7. Notify all guests and participants to leave the venue calmly and proceed to muster points or assembly
area(s).

8. Identify injured persons (if present).

9. Await arrival of Emergency Services and await further instruction.


10. Only re-enter the area/building when advised by Emergency Services or the House Manager that it is
safe to do so.

(Fire Extinguishers are located near the left entrance door at the front of the venue)

In case of MEDICAL EMERGENCY:

Should a medical emergency occur:

1. The first personnel on the scene should assess the situation and if they do not have first aid training,
immediately notify the House Manager and/or First Aid trained personnel.

2. Call Emergency Services – 911 and request an ambulance.

3. Administer first aid, as trained.

4. Organize ushers to meet the ambulance outside the venue and take them to the medical emergency
location.

5. One should remain with the injured person until Emergency Services personnel arrive.

6. Assist Emergency Services personnel as required.

7. Complete an Incident Report form as soon as possible after the event.

In case of an EARTHQUAKE:

Should an earthquake occur:

1. The ushers should stay calm and guide guests and participants to do the “duck, cover and hold”.

2. Once the shaking stops, ushers should guide guests and participants outside the venue. Ushers should
remain calm.

3. Ushers should guide the guests to safe places free from falling debris and infrastructure.
