A Disaster Management Plan clearly defines the processes to be followed in the event of an emergency
occurring during a planned Special Event.
1. Event Description
2. Audience Management
Emergency drills should include a pre-event walk through by the House Manager who will ensure that all
ushers are aware of any evacuation procedures in place.
In case of an emergency, the ushers will guide the guests and participants of the event into the designated
exits of the venue. The ushers must stay calm in guiding guests safely outside of the venue.
6. The House Manager will assess the situation and commence evacuation if deemed necessary.
7. Notify all guests and participants to leave the venue calmly and proceed to muster points or assembly
area(s).
(Fire Extinguishers are located near the left entrance door at the front of the venue)
1. The first personnel on the scene should assess the situation and if they do not have first aid training,
immediately notify the House Manager and/or First Aid trained personnel.
4. Organize ushers to meet the ambulance outside the venue and take them to the medical emergency
location.
5. One should remain with the injured person until Emergency Services personnel arrive.
In case of an EARTHQUAKE:
1. The ushers should stay calm and guide guests and participants to do the “duck, cover and hold”.
2. Once the shaking stops, ushers should guide guests and participants outside the venue. Ushers should
remain calm.
3. Ushers should guide the guests to safe places free from falling debris and infrastructure.
