b. Appreciate the importance of each parts of the eye
c. Write the value of the eye and their function

A. Preliminary Activities

1. Prayer
- Ok class, everybody stand and let
us pray (One pupil can lead the prayer)

2. Greetings
- Good morning class Good morning teacher
Good morning classmate
3. Opening Song
- Let us sing a song the title “Head,
Shoulder, Knees and Toes” (Pupil’s will sing a song)

Ok you may now take your seat. Thank you teacher.

Welcome.

4. Checking of attendance
- Is there anybody absent today? None teacher

Very good!

5. Setting of a classroom standard


- What will you do if the class is
started? Keep quiet and listen carefully.
What else? Seat properly

- Now our lesson for today is all


about the parts of the eye.

3. Discussion

The sense of sight or vision

The sense of sight or vision is your eye.


They enable you to see things such as trees,
buildings, houses, birds, and plants.
They help you to identify and describe the
characteristic of people, object and places, your
eyes are important organ of your body.

Parts of the eye and their functions

Your eyes have external and internal parts.


The eyelids, eyelashes, sclera, pupil and iris
are the external parts.

Eyelid – cover the front part of the eye.


Eyelashes – which protect the eyes from
foreign materials.
Sclera – is the white coating that protect the
eyeball.

Pupil – it is the black or dark part of the eye.

Iris – the circular part that surrounds.

The cornea, lens, retina and optic nerve are


the internal parts.

Cornea – is the clear portion that allows light to


enter the eye.

Lens – is the clear part of the eye behind the


iris.

Retina – is found at the back of the eyeball.

Optic nerve – that carries the message from


the eye to the brain.

Proper Care for the eye

1. Avoid looking directly at the sun.


2. Wash them with clean water.
3. Eat food rich in Vitamin A.
4. Keep away sharp and pointed object
from your eyes.
5. When you watch television maintain a
distance at least four feet from television.
