INQUIRER- EJK

1. Do you agre e with the claims or allegations being said by the drug crime boss about the
state of corruption in the Philippine government?

An international drug kingpin now awaiting sentencing in the United States

had operated his crime network unmolested from his base in the Philippines by
bribing high officials that included those from the national government and
police, according to a new book that detailed the crime empire built by Paul
Calder-Le Roux, a South African information technology (IT) genius who
turned his internet drug distribution network into one of the world’s biggest
underworld organization.

2. Do you agree that the war on drugs is effective?

Initially in a way it was it allowed many drug users and pushers surrender but as time
went by it lacked actual resolve. No new policies for these people were made in which case
after they surrendered they were put in a terribly guarded list and just observed. There was
no proper rehabilitation and the root of the problem has not been resolved so in a way they
are removing some but many of those they remove return and there are bound to be new
cases. So for me it is ineffective due to the lack of additional action to stop the root cause.

3. What is your overall thought or sentiment about the drug situationin the Philippines?

I admire his will power and desire to stop the drug problem in our country, it's just that,
we have a process. The purpose of process is to make things in order. If we don't follow
what's in the law, then it will stop meaning anything in the future. It ruins many lives and
families, the government itself, even. Human rights is so overwhelming right now— I am
disappointed and disgusted. I am against illegal drugs, but I am also against killing
“abruptly". Many innocent people can be killed

CNN- IMMIGRATION CRISIS

1. What do you understand about the crisis of illegal immigration and refugee situation in
US and all over the world?

Majority of Americans and immigration officials are of the thought that illegal
immigration should get stopped as it is bad for the country. Once they enter the country,
there is no documentation of where they go or where they come from in the first place.
They may be suffering from transmittable diseases and due to their large number, spread
them across the United States bringing untold suffering to the populationThey think that
it is a drain on the country’s economy.. But since it is impossible to stop immigrants from
coming to the country in one move, steps should be undertaken to reduce illegal
immigrants in phases. Most of the money that they earn is undeclared depriving the
United States economy of much-needed taxes.

2. What is your thought or sentiment regarding the condition being experienced by the
refugees and illegal immigrants? today no region or continent lacks refugees-people
caught between danger at home and loss of identity in a strange land. Refugee problem
has exist for a long time and has created great suffering – research which might relieve
the suffering of the refugees. Despite tens of million of refugees in this century, refugee
research is sporadic, unsystematic, isolated, and cursory.

3What form of solution do you think can be given to ease the plight of the refugees or
illegal immigrants.

Access to durable solutions for refugees will be easier if they have been able to become
self-reliant pending the identification and establishment of this solution. “Self-reliance”
means the economic and social ability of the individual refugee, household or community
to meet essential needs in a sustainable manner and with dignity. In practice, self-reliance
usually means granting refugees access to the economy in the host country, including
through access to the labour market. Education, micro-financing, language courses,
vocational training, and access to adequate accommodation and social services can help
refugees to become self-reliant.
