Case Study: Game Over

Titan Stores have been wrongfully accused of selling illegal software products. We have the original
purchase orders and the invoices from our supplier that back up our ethical standards. We suspect it’s been
a disgruntled ex-employee who’s been leaking false information to the press just to stain our reputation.
We’re ready to face any legal complaint they wish to make against us.

Even though staff turnover has been rather high recently, that hasn’t kept up from meeting the highest
quality standards in the products we sell. In case that our employees’ morale and efficiency has been
affected by this, we are willing to do our best to mend this situation as soon as possible

Complaints from the company’s employees.

Management thinks a disgruntled ex-employee or the competition has been spreading false rumors against
Titan Stores.

The TV documentary has damaged the company’s image throughout Europe.

The company prices its products competitively and offers top quality goods. In this time where the economy
all over Europe has taken a big hit, it’s impossible that a company keeps maintaining its leadership in the
market whereas other companies have gone bankrupt.

The workers totally oppose to staff turnover because they think they’ll be next in line to be laid off.

A number of pirated copies of the game have actually been sold by Titan Stores maybe without their
knowledge about it.

Titan Stores need to conduct an exhaustive investigation to clear its name. They need to get to the bottom
of the problem and once they have hard evidence they’ve been wrongly accused, file a lawsuit against the
TV channel for having slandered the company’s reputation based on rumors.

The company needs to spend as much money as it takes to get to the bottom of the problem and find out
who’s been spreading the illegal copies of the game throughout its stores. They need to withdraw the game
from the stores until every copy is thoroughly examined and cleared. Once they find who’s been spreading
the pirated copies throughout Europe, they need to have a major press conference where they show the hard
evidence they have against the real criminal. Next, they need to file a lawsuit against the media who
backed up the accusations without hard evidence or to ask them to recant their story and display apologies
for having wrongly accused the company.
