ABSTRACT

Idea to design a super deluxe chair is come from a teacher that gives
a task and a title for this project. To design this super deluxe chair it
must be build using Polyvinyl-Chloride (PVC) and compare with the
other product that available in market. To make sure the idea to design
the super deluxe chair is new and not used in old idea, the information
about current design for super deluxe chair must search or get from the
internet. From there the information and idea to design a super deluxe
chair can be created. It includes many things about super deluxe chair
design that wanted to know. Whole of the project involve various
methods like the concept design, the designing and also the pipe fitting.
Beside that, this project can bring a motivation and experience to
conduct the various type of pipes,fittings and also soft skill ability like
time management, planning the task, negotiation skill and sell Out the
idea especially during presentation.

 INTRODUCTION

This project was purpose to design a super deluxe chair using polyvinyl-
chloride (pvc). This project involves designing a super deluxe chair which is flexible
enough whereby it can be fixed up and assembly within few minutes to survey the
purpose. Beside that it a trend to put function in super deluxe chair to make it more
function ability and agronomic design.

Firstly chair is used as a place where we can sit on it to study or relax. We

already know that chair is a product that can make as a thing for relax and make
clarity and it is a pleasure when we can use it anywhere and anytime we need. To fill
the wish,many companies have designed chair for user easier to bring it anywhere
they need and anytime.This project provides a quick and creative- thinking to create
a new design using pvc.Beside that it also improving knowledge and thinking that we
know the way to join the pipe using pipe fitting.

Polyvinyl-Chloride (PVC) is a plastic product which has matchless versatility.

It effectively replaces wood, paper and metal in several applications. Among the
various types of plastic pipes which are commonly used for such applications PVC
pipes are the most widely used all over the world on account of their most favourable
balance of properties. PVC pipes are light in weight, rates for use under pressure,
easy to install, low frictional loss, low on maintenance cost, and have low frictional
loss. Rigid PVC pipes have wide variety of uses in fields like city/town/rural water
supply scheme, spray irrigation, deep tube well schemes and land drainage
schemes.

This project focuses further on design the current model of Super deluxe chair
and it also allowed to used and test for strongest, stability and the function.

OBJECTIVES

Basically this project is based on these objectives:

 To design a super deluxe chair using polyvinyl-chloride (pvc).

 Also focuses on the method of using pvc pipes with different types of pipe
fittings.
 To produce and train student to capable of doing work with minimal
supervisory and more independent in searching, detailing and expanding
the engineering knowledge and experiences.

PROJECT SCOPE

 To design super deluxe chair using polyvinyl-chloride.

 Not for extreme using requirement.
 Make for people who wanted to save space or have a small space even
save time.

 PROJECT PLANNING

This project begun with made a research and search for

information via internet, books, supervisor, and others relevant academic
material that related to the title, this literature review takes about a three
week. The findings of information not stop there. It continues along the
way of this project because knowledge is so many to learn plus with the
wrong information that gathered. The first week also had to arrangement
several meeting with our lecturer to be clearly about the scope of project
title.We move on with our discussion in group and planning about the
prototype model using PVC pipes.

Second Week,we come up with a design of chair using PVC pipe

connections with fittings.The second week also we started to sketch our
prototype model chair.Later on, we discuss about our project with
lecturer and the project was well cleared.On the weekend of the second
week,we bought the materials and equipments needed for our
project.We planned the method and procedure of fixing the chair.

Third Week, we started to fixed up the chair using the PVC pipes
and fitting.It took almost four to five days to stand up a chair.while fixing
the pipes and fittings,some photos are taken as a reference.Once done
with the chair, we did our slides and report based on the guidance given
by our lecturer.Finally we named our chair as a SUPER DELUXE
CHAIR.

FLOW CHART WITH PICTURES (METHODOLOGY)

The tees used to fix the

base or stretcher of the chair.

Next,the stretcher or base of

the chair was fixed using 4 tees
and 4 tubes of 47cm pipes.

Tees are used to fix the

seat of the chair as shown.

 Then,tees are connected

parallely for fixing of the

seat.

The seat of the chair is

fixed using 12 tees,4 and 6 tubes
of 47 cm pipes.

Back post of the chair

was fixed for the

convenience of seater.

 The back post of the chair
is fixed with top rail, mid rail and
lower rail using the 4 elbow 90°,and 3
tubes o 47cm pipes.

Themanchette and arm is

fixed using 2 elbow 90°,2
tees and2 tubes of 47cm pipes.
The PVC solvent cement applied
at every connections of the pipe
to make it stable and stronger.

Finally,4 end caps and wheel was

placed at the bottom tubes of pipes below

the base.The Super Deluxe Chair was

fixed.

 Conclusion

After conducting this project,we get to understand more about the

method of pipe connection and pipe fittings.Moreover we came up with
a prototype modal that is necessary in everyone’s daily life.Super Deluxe
Chair is our prototype model and its really a creative,effective and
flexible chair than other types.We think Polyvinyl-Chloride (PVC) pipes
are the most suitable and low costing material that can be used as a part
of our project.Moreover,PVC pipes can be recyle back as it is good for
earth.This project provides a critical and creative- thinking to create a
new design. All our objectives are achieved and we succeed in our
project as last with all our commitments.
