Top 10 FAQs Interview Job

 Tell me about yourself. ...

I graduated with a HUMAN RESOURCE degree in 2010 and was offered an account
management position from a telecommunications company I had interned with. I loved
working with customers and managing and growing my accounts, but the industry we
were in just wasn’t very appealing to me. I stayed a full year and learned a ton about
how to build and manage accounts successfully and I ended up becoming a top
performer in my group before leaving. I left at the 1-year-mark to pursue a very similar
position within an industry I’m much more excited about healthcare. I’ve been at this
healthcare startup space for 2 years with this company and I feel ready to take my
career to the next level so that’s why I’m currently looking for a new opportunity.

 Why should we hire you? ...

I believe this experience and training has prepared me to take the next step and pursue
a management position with J’s Marketing. This company has a reputation for excellent
management, this opportunity looks perfect to me, and I look forward to working with the
best.

 What is your greatest strength? ...

My strength is my flexibility to handle change. As customer service manager at my last
job, I was able to turn around a negative working environment and develop a very
supportive team. As far as weaknesses, I feel that my management skills could be
stronger, and I am constantly working to improve them.

 What is your greatest weakness? ...

It takes me awhile to close sales. I always make it a point to be thorough with my
customers to make sure I am able to sufficiently answer all their queries. I don’t stop
until they are completely satisfied with the service rendered.

 Why are you leaving or why have you left your job? ...
I have been at my company for three years now and have learned a lot from working
with some amazing salespeople. I worked my way up to regional sales manager 18
months ago and my region has beat our sales projections by at least 25% each quarter
since. However, I am starting to feel like I need some new challenges. This position
really appeals to me because it would allow me to manage a bigger team and sell more
innovative products.
 What are your salary expectations? ...
My salary range is quite flexible. I would, of course, like to be compensated fairly for my
decade of experience and award-winning sales record. However, I am very open to
discussing specific numbers once we have discussed the details of the position.
 Why do you want this job? ...
I’ve been interested in switching to finance for a while now and have been actively
managing my own personal portfolio for a few years. Joining a nice shop makes sense
to me because I think it’s one of the few places where I’ll still be able to use my
technical skills and spend my day thinking about finance. I’m really excited to learn
more and see how I’ll be able to contribute the firm.

 How do you handle stress and pressure?

Stress is very important to me. With stress, I do the best possible job. The appropriate
way to deal with stress is to make sure I have the correct balance between good stress
and bad stress. I need good stress to stay motivated and productive.

 Describe a difficult work situation or project and how you handled it

Yes, I can. Approximately 3 weeks ago, whilst at work I overheard a particularly
disturbing conversation between two work colleagues. One of the work colleagues was
being verbally abusive to the other person. There had already been rumours in the
office that the two of them did not get on particularly well and now it had come to a head
in the canteen during a work break.
