As I sat I saw and listened Stegosaurus, his plates erect.
Lizard skin in moonlight glistened Designed for shade and to protect.
Creatures ancient, weird and wizened Waddled forth with outstretched neck;
Slinked into the Dinosaur Parade. A tailspike wake described its trek
The acrobat was a renegade Raptor
Plodding painted circus wagons He showed us how to elude a captor
Drawn by Earth's primeval dragons Bouncing hither and yon, this way and that
Dragged and pushed in slow progression A free style high flying clawed acrobat.
Bumping some from the procession.
Steps tripped into graceful stumble Creatures streamed on down the highway
As more jumped to join the giant jumble Rhamphorynchus swarmed the skyway
Clumsy prancers found fancy feet Iguanodorts sporting thumb spikes
Saurians bounced to the building beat. Tramped on timeworn local turnpikes
Right where Main Street rounds the bend
Staggered spins; swirled spiraled leaps Thumped an armor plated friend
As reptiles reeled away their sleep Plodding plump ankylosaur
Scores of creatures now in motion Sporting club and spikes galore.
Freed from bonds of stone and ocean.
Com dogs uncovered by carnivores
Duckbilled dandies danced as leaders Caused a hundred hungry dino-roars,
Curved crests bobbing, throbbing meters Fat feeding frenzied dinosaurs
Wrangling rolling rhythm beaters Left trails of candied apple cores
To the drums of the Dinosaur Parade. Cotton candy by the clawfull
Pirouettes from Triceratops Caramel popcorn by the jawfuil
Performed as a sly pair of hops Fizzy soda filled each maw full
Establishing tone, style and pace Sweet, delicious, rich and awful
Displaying elephantine grace That feast in the Dinosaur Parade.
A knowing smile crept 'cross her face
Causing my heart and soul to race A selection fine and classic
Last night in the Dinosaur Parade. From Triassic to Jurassic
A collection of Cretaceous
Monster max Tyrannosaurus Both outrageous and bodacious.
Never could begin to bore us Of dinosaurs dancing
The gaping yawn of great big jaws And reptiles prancing
Long dagger teeth and stronger claws Last night in the Dinosciur Parade.
First class unsurpassed worldbeater
Royal supreme chief meat eater As a new dawn's sun ascended
Naturally selected leader The great pageant gently ended
King of the Dinosaur Parade. The saurians ceased their creeping
Stopped their laughing, stayed their leaping
Brontosaurus blundered bold Then lo, the Bnal giant stepped
Stately howdah trimmed in gold Like some great tortoise crawled, then crept
Lumbered down the darkened street But, then, at one last moment— leapt!
Ground thundered under great gray feet. Within memories to be kept
Of that night in the Dinosaur Parade.
Pteranodons trilled tremeloed tunes
Swooping, they zoomed past hot air balloons Sinking back into my pillow
Harmonies crooned to choirs below Banners softly ceased their billow
Squeaks squealed high as ballads boomed low. I slept from the dreams of ages
Of old animals in stages
Heavenly lemon-lime lollipops Slipped free once from ancient cages
Were peddled by Pentaceratops Ivowed to create these pages
Bipedal Archaeopteryx To bring back the Dinosaur Parade.
Presented eye-popping optic tricks.

OF all of the beasts They’re the pits with their tits;
I like mammals least Gives me fits
They’re ugly and hairy Get ’em outa here!
Their faces are scary
They’re small) tough and mean They devour strange food
Smell bad; they're unclean They're coarse and they’re rude
They bear their bids live Their bad attitude
How do they sur«ve? Gives me a foul mood-
They suckle their young
They make smelly dung Moving in; taking over
I Hate Mammals! Named "Spot", "Prince" and "Rover"
Their poop's in our clover
Use a comb; Go back home; Make ’em roam; They’ve slunk like delinquents
Get ’em outa here! Through the Mesozoic sequence
They’re up to no good
