Placement Policy at III Cell

1) Registrations: All the students willing to avail the placement facilities are needed to register with
the III Cell at the time of finishing their pre-final year in the prescribed Performa with payment
of non-refundable fees as prescribed from time to time.

During the registrations, the students will be asked to give their choice for most preferred job
areas out of the following:

i) IT/ITES Sector
ii) Tech Support
iii) Core ( for core engineering companies)
iv) Non – Core ( Marketing /Sales/Business Development /Equity/Academics/others)

Placement Mock Test (PMT) will be taken in Pre-Final year for the placements. If after
registration the student is not interested for placement through campus interviews or through III Cell,
then he/she is required to inform his/her unwillingness to III Cell immediately in writing.

2) Notice of Campus Interviews will be displayed /conveyed to the students through notice board
of III Cell, Department concerned, Student Coordinators and email to eligible students.
3) As far as possible, the III Cell shall plan the visits of the company before commencement of the
final year and the dates agreed upon between the company and the institute shall be displayed
to the students so that they can have the option to decide to apply for the company of their
choice.
4) The students who would like to apply to a particular company / organization visiting to campus
interviews will be required to indicate their willingness to the III Cell through Student
Coordinators. The students will sign the campus interview sheet which shall be circulated with
willingness indicated (i.e interested /Not interested) which shall be made available to the
Student Coordinator for attending campus interviews. However, if any query or
miscommunication is there on the part of student, such student(s) can directly approach the III
Cell office.
5) Once the willingness is indicated for the particular company, it will be obligatory on the part of
the student to attend Pre Placement Presentation or Pre Placement Talk of the company. Failure
to do this , the concerned student shall be debarred from attending selection process for one
company coming next for campus in which he /she is eligible to appear. After the presentation
or talk given by the company, the student may decide whether to attend screening process of
the campus interviews like written tests , preliminary interviews , etc or not. Once a student
decides to attend further process after PPT, it will be obligatory on part of the student to attend
various steps of total selection process.

A student, if eligible, should appear for placements if the profile offered is same as per his/her
choice taken while registration. Eligible students who do not appear for any such drive must give
reasons for not attending the process in writing to III Cell.
6) Category of a company : the classification of a company into A+ ( Dream), A and B categories is
based on the pay package in CTC ( Cost to Company in LPA – Lakhs per annum).The
classification is as follows:
i) Category A+ (Dream): Companies offering greater than or equal to INR12.00 LPA.
ii) Category A : Companies offering greater than or equal to INR 7.00 LPA and less than
INR12.00 LPA
iii) Category B : Companies offering less thanINR7.00 LPA.

Upgradation Rules: A student after receiving an offer can attempt maximum twice for an
upgrade throughout the placement process.

A student who is selected in an ‘A‘ category company has the option of upgrading to an ‘ A+ ‘

Category company and a student who is selected in a ‘ B” category company has the option of
upgrading to an ‘ A ‘ or an ‘ A+ ‘ category company .

The following up gradations are permissible:

o B Category to A category company


o B Category to A+ category company
o A Category to A+ category company

If a student gets an offer through upgradation, his/her previous offer stands cancelled and
he/she would be out of the placement process for same and /or lower category. Once student
avails two up gradation attempts, he will not be allowed to attempt further for any category
and will be out of placement process.
Student once placed in category A+ , will not be allowed to participate further in the
placement process.
Every year benchmarked CTC figures for allowing dream company status can be reviewed by
corporate relations team in consultation with Director, Institute of Technology (HOI) and
approval of Director General.

7) The letter of appointment from the company should go directly to the student concerned with
the copy to III Cell and HoI.
8) After accepting a job offer, if the student decides to withdraw his / her acceptance anytime
during the year, he / she must inform the company concerned directly with copy to III Cell and
HoI.
9) Till joining the job, if any correspondence with the company is made, then the appointed
student should do it directly with copy marked to III Cell office and HoI.
10) If a student is selected by one organization, then further processing of his / her candidature in
the same category will be stopped irrespective of the acceptance of the offer.
11) If a student opts for higher studies and secure his/her admission, then the student must inform
the details to III Cell office and the department immediately.
12) Selections done by defence services (like IAF, Indian Navy and Indian Army) by visit to the
institute will not fall into the category of shortlisting.
13) III Cell will not maintain records or enter in to correspondence about the recruitments done
directly by organizations in response to advertisements in the newspaper/employment news or
any other agency.
14) In case of any dispute / doubt about the interpretation of any clause mentioned in the policy
document, the decision of HoI shall be final.
15) In case of any departure from the above policy, the final decision in this respect shall be at the
discretion of Director General / Vice President.
