PAINT TUTORIAL / BANE (VENOM INJECTED) —

SEQUENCE 1 – PREPARING YOUR MINI —

I remove all mold lines with a modeler's scalpel (new blade
recommended). Then I wash the mini in warm water and
dishwasher soap, to remove any grease that been depos-
ited on the mini during the production process.
Once dry, I then spray several light layers of the white
primer FXG001, leaving 15 minutes between each coat to
slowly build up the undercoat, this ensures that you don’t
obscure the minis detail with too much paint.

SEQUENCE 2 – BASE COLORS —

I start by blocking out the base colors. This allows me to view
them relative to each other. I used the illustration as a color
match reference. (Bane 6 and 7)

Before adding final highlights, I use a mix of Basic Skintone

top of the previous coat but fractionally reduce the amount
covered in the previous step.

I then add a layer of Dark Gray PA994 over the entire upper

areas with a base color wash.

I start highlighting with Silver Gray PA952. I make several
passes with a very diluted mix.

Finish with a touch of Ivory PA918 on the highest areas. This

adds a reflection to the metal.

On the green sections of the tubes, I apply a base coat of a mix

of Yellow Green PA954 + Park Green Flat PA969. I highlight
the areas that catch the light most with Yellow Green PA954.

I finish with several passes of Daler & Rowney pure white.

I use this brand as it is already dilluted and not as grainy as
other whites, so it’s easier to apply.

dry brush of Flat Flesh on the raised areas. The small tube on
the right hand side was painted in Black PA950 and Golden

Rather than a base coat, I apply a wash of a mix of Black PA

A final finishing coat of Black PA950 over the rim of the base.

Once the wash is dry, I dry brush Neutral Gray PA992 then a
light dry brush of Flat Flesh PA955.

I seal the mini with a spray coat of Matt Varnish PA FXGV01.

I ended up with a deposit of PA73110 Calcined Shadow Pig-

ment and PA73108 Brown Iron Oxide to give a slightly dusty
appearance. I do not hesitate to brush a little shoes to make
everything more realistic.
