DHARMA STHOTHRAM

Part 63.

Bahusiras, Bhabru
When the mind is offered to Sriman Narayana, impurities are removed instantly.
Desires and aversions do not pervert and strengthen the senses then. While such
purified and subdued senses function in relation to the objects, they put them down
as it were by neglect and do not become the slaves of such objects. One who follows
this path will have his mind under control , he will not be addicted to any other ills
and will only attain peace and get clarity of intellect. Such a strategy of clarity of
intellect puts an end to the worldly pleasures, cares and sorrows arise due to
confusion. This follows clear understanding of the Self which establishes itself it
readily. In case of refusal of one's mind not dwelling of Sriman Narayana as said
above, and endeavors after the control of senses by one's own unsupported efforts,
the understanding and the contemplation of self will never get rooted in him.Hence
the mind should be steady and run after devout practices, such as uttering the names
of Sriman narayana for ever, and by worshipping Him at all times. While Sri
Vaishnavites call Ashtakshara manthram as a remedy for salvation, Kamban told it as
"Raman ennum semmai ser namam Kambar says as Rama nama is sure to form as a
great medicine and cure for seven births even. The sloka in sanskrit Yathra yathra
Raghu natha keerthanam Thathra conveys the glory of Rama nama through
Hanuman who is present wherever Rama nama is pronounced. Thus Rama's
eminence as incarnation of Sri maha Vishnu is praised in thousand names as Sri
Vishnu Sahasranamam. Dharma sthothram deals this partly in this.

In 115th nama Bahusirase it is meant as one who has many heads. He is like Audi
sesha with multi headed . He has many heads and more than thousand hoods. In
Purusha Suktham Sahasra seersha prushah it is said as God has a very large number
,say thousands of heads because all heads belong to the world. Also it has
Sahasrakshah sahasrapaath as 1000 eyes, and 1000 feet . It covers the earth from all
sides as sky/space and exceeds the whole world, of infinite space and time. The world
with all its teeming life and light is only God's will. The supreme being is broadly said
to possess five attributes sathyam , gnanam, anantham, anandam and vimalam. He is
the reality and self effulgent. He is not governed by the laws of limitations and not
measured by time and space. In Paduka sahasram Swamy Desikan says in 751st
sloka as " srushtam bhumav anandena nithyam sesha samaadhina . He praised
padukas equivalent to Sriman Narayana with many great qualities and regarded
Paduka as jeevathma created in this world as an example of soul and to show how the
soul has to act. In this sloka anantham is said to be ' bahu . t is said as Audhisesha is
in the form of Paduka.

The next 116th nama is Bhabru mean as He who carries the worlds. He is who bears
the world which has a secure place on His head. In Nammahwar's Thiruvaimozhi,
6.10.1 Ulagamunda peruvayaa it is said as Sriman narayana called as Thiruvenkata
mudaiyan in Thirumala as one who swallowed the worlds and keeps safely in His
mouth ,which is bigger than the world. He is the savior with lot of fame which has no
ends. His glittering personality and physique and limitless glory is laudable one. He is
vital life to the surrendering jeevathmas. God is an indweller in each one of them.
Souls are similar in all beings, though they assume based on their past deeds are
different. votaries of God do not show any distinction .

In our trips to Thirmala hills , we can observe people from different parts of the
whole world comes there in different ways. But all devotees whoever comes near the
sanctum sanctorum are permitted to stay and worship only for few seconds , and
everybody is treated equally.
