Madam:

According to Redmond, Wash., October 15, 2013, candidates for current and future jobs will be
measured by capabilities and competencies, with 20 distinct skills bubbling up to the top in millions of high-
growth, high-paying job postings, according to a white paper commissioned by Microsoft Corporation. Out
of those skills, oral and written communication, detail orientation, and Microsoft Office proficiency top the
list.

Many adults lack the formal training for many of the newer software programs. It can be somewhat
of a challenge to keep up with the latest software versions as they change almost every year. (Sam Miller,
2015) These days you must be sharper than ever before developing for yourself personal achievement goals,
which should include specialized training in your field of expertise.

Thus, as a Creative Writing Teacher, I moved to organize a three (3) day Training and Workshop on
Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher and Power Point and Excel) for students under Creative Writing on July
22 and 29, 2017 and August 5, 2017at Cabantian National High School, Computer Laboratory 2. Expenses
incurred relative to the conduct of the training will be taken from the voluntary contribution of the
participants which was discussed during the Parent- Teacher Conference held at the SPA Building last June
17, 2017. As we face the new period of rebooting the effective implementation Special Program in the Arts,
we know very well of your value and concern for our students, thus we firmly believe you will never fail us.

For this reason may we humbly request your approval to help us achieve our plans as narrated above
for the improvement of Creative Writing, Special Program in the Arts within the school. Furthermore, may
we also request for the approval of our teacher’s SERVICE CREDITS during the said activity.

Attached is our Training Proposal and Matrix.

May this request merit your favorable approval.

Very truly yours,

Date : July 22, 29 and August 5, 2017

8:00 – 5:00 P.M.
I. Rationale:

Microsoft Office is an integrated suite of business software applications for Windows and Macintosh
computers. Office includes word processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics and email communication
programs that provide functionality which is commonly used to run a business office. Knowing such is
important to process raw facts into meaningful information. It could benefit students to create new
innovative methods of writing and learning. Microsoft word and Microsoft office suite for students help to
transmit educational materials and practice systematically in school and educational institution faster with
higher quality.
Based on the Training Needs Assessment Result during our Conference with the Creative Writing Grade
7 and Grade 8 students, which was conducted last June 14, 2017 and the Creative Writing Developmental
Plan shows a Competency Level of LOW Microsoft Office Skills and Awareness.
With the participants' experience from the three-day seminar-workshop, it is hoped that they will be
more confident and capable in planning and carrying out simple yet interesting literary ideas as well
as literary pieces for SPA fairs and exhibits.

II. Objectives:
1. To fully integrate and to give maximum flexibility and performance in writing substantial thoughts.
2. To develop strategies that can ultimately increase Creative Writing Discipline’s performance
significantly.
3. To gain the knowledge that will be needed to effectively develop an almost customized platform for
learning environment.
4. To carry a Microsoft certified label that will assist the students in achieving 21st Century Skills.

V. Rationale:
Science investigatory projects provide teachers practical experience in using the scientific
method and help stimulate their interest in scientific inquiry. Moreover, doing an investigatory
project considers a major achievement of any teachers in Science. Through scientific
investigation, they learn how to apply the acquired knowledge, scientific concepts, theories,
principles and laws of nature. They can use their higher-order process or thinking skills in
conducting a research.
Based on the Training Needs Assessment Result during our Cluster III Conference with the
Science Teachers which was conducted last September 17 2015, and the Science Teachers
Developmental Plan shows a Competency Level of FAIR Research Innovative Teaching Strategies.
With the participants' experience from the three-day seminar-workshop, it is hoped that
they will be more confident and capable in planning and carrying out simple yet interesting science
investigations as well as investigatory projects for science fairs.

5. To provide teachers with the opportunity to apply science– related concepts and
innovations;
6. To develop an interest among teachers to engage in any scientific work as manifested in
their active participation and involvement in the project;
7. To provide teachers with educational opportunities and experiences through direct

Madam:

Action research is a tool that is use to help teachers and other educators uncover
strategies to improve teaching practices (Sagor, 2004); it is a viable and realistic endeavor
for all educators. It is considered a professional development opportunity because,
frequently, teachers test a new instructional strategy, assess a new curriculum program,
or evaluate an existing pedagogical method. According to (Ferrance, 2000, et.al) in many
research studies, participating in action research studies has been found to be the impetus
for positive change exemplified by teachers improvement, self -reflection, and over all
learning that enhances classroom practices. These forms of change may impact teacher
quality.
But studies shows that many classroom teachers considered research to be a complex set
of steps that is too difficult to participate and lead.

In this connection we would like to request for the approval of our three day Basic Action
Research Training and Workshop on September 21, 28 and October 5, 2014 at Cabantian
National High School, Country Homes, Cabantian, Davao City.

Attached is our Training Proposal and Matrix.

Science Investigatory Project (SIP) is an annual activity participated by the science

researchers and enthusiasts to strengthen science education. As we face the different
challenges in teaching profession, the importance of research is still the highlight to
enhanced scientific and technological development of our local community while improving
the knowledge and skills of our teachers and students to be globally competitive.

During our Cluster Based Conference with the physics teachers our Education Program
Supervisor, Dr. Teresita F. Del Valle, posed a challenge to the science teachers to
participate in research education. Thus, being the Cluster Science Coordinator, I am
moved to organize a simultaneous Cluster Based Seminar workshop on Science

Madam:
Research is a tool that is use to help teachers uncover strategies to improve teaching
practices (Sagor, 2004). It is considered a professional development opportunity because,
frequently, teachers test a new instructional strategy, assess a new curriculum program, or
evaluate an existing pedagogical method.
According to (Ferrance, 2000, et.al) in many research studies, participation in research
projects has been found to be the impetus for positive change exemplified by teachers
improvement, self -reflection, and over all learning that enhances classroom practices and
innovation. These forms of change had greater impact on teaching and learning quality. But
studies shows that many classroom teachers considered research to be a complex set of steps
that is too difficult to participate and lead.
Thus, as Cluster Science Coordinator, I am moved to organize a three (3) day Science
Investigatory Project Training and Workshop for Teachers on November 14, 15, and 22, 2015
at Cabantian National High School, Country Homes, Cabantian, Davao City. As we face the
new era of rebooting the effective implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum,
we know very well of your concern for our teachers, thus we firmly believed you will never fail
us.
For this reason may we humbly request your approval to help us achieve our plans as
narrated above for the improvement of science education within the school. Furthermore, may
we also request for the approval of our teacher’s SERVICE CREDITS during the said activity.
Attached is our Training Proposal and Matrix.
May this request merit your favorable approval.

Sincerely yours,

CHERRY ANN D. INTO
