Dear Fellow Schools/ Administrators/ Directors/ Principals/ Heads

Greetings of Peace!
The Inventors School of the Philippines (ISP), in cooperation with the 75-year-old Filipino
Inventors Society (FIS), Inc. and the Manila Young Inventors Association (MYIA), will be
staging the 1st Filipino IDEAS (Innovation, Design, Enterprise, Applications, and
Solutions) Expo on September 28-29, 2019 at the New Era University in Diliman, Quezon City.

ISP is the first school for innovation and business in the Philippines and an upcoming
corresponding member of the United Nations-recognized International Federation of
Inventors Association (IFIA) just like the MYIA, and the FIS, which is a regular member.

The proponents are strongly pushing for innovation and product creation advocacies, believing
that only when the Philippines and the Filipinos seriously start going into innovation and product
creation can our country be competitive and stand toe-to-toe with the rest of the world now that
globalization is already upon us. Over the last few years, we have been working to inculcate in
the academe the value of research, development, and innovation leading to product creation to
finally turn the Philippines into being a mere consuming country to a producing one. We also
envision it to be an economic game-changer that shall propel our GDP to new heights as it
could finally perk up our exports and make it higher than our imports.

We know how much emphasis your school has been placing on research, science and
technology, and we would like to invite you to field an entry to the Metro Manila-wide invention
competition in the 1st Filipino IDEAS Expo. Apart from medals and certificates, participating
student inventors shall have the opportunity to win scholarships and possible cash prizes.

The 1st Filipino IDEAS Expo is going to be a two-day expo to highlight the ingenuity and
product creativity of young Filipino minds. There will be no cost at all for the participating
students except for their trip to and from the venue. They shall be provided snacks and lunch
during the two-day event.

Participating students shall likewise be granted the opportunity to become junior members of the
Filipino Inventors Society.

As for invention advisers and interested principals, the 1st Filipino IDEAS Expo shall also have
two half-day forum components featuring the important topics of Innovation, Research,
Development and Product Revolution whose resource persons shall be coming from the
Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Intellectual Property Office of the
Philippines (IPOPHL), and the Filipino Inventors Society. For a minimal seminar fee for
participating teachers and principals, they shall also be provided with lunch, snacks, and
certificates.

Incidentally, we have informed the Department of Education (Deped) of the activity and we have
been permitted to make our invitation for the event to schools as per attached screenshot of
correspondence from Deped NCR. A similar directive shall be cascaded to the local Deped
offices subsequently.

Details of the event can be gleaned in the attached mechanics and competition criteria. The full
details for the two-half day seminars shall be made available as soon as it is finalized but for
now, the program of activities is also enclosed.

Should your school decides to participate by sending an entry in this historic science and
technology event, kindly fill up the registration form and e-mail to ISP at
amalvas@inventorsschool.com.ph or call us at (02) 247-7227 so that we can elaborate
further on the details. We look forward to your school’s entries in the milestone event. Thank
you.

Very respectfully yours,

Adrian Malvas
