● Wilderness First Responder​: ​Gives me the authority to provide a high level of medical
assistance to injured individuals in wilderness areas. ​NOLS Wilderness Medicine

● Leave No Trace Trainer​: ​I can​ ​educate others on LNT principles. ​Leave No Trace
(Spring 2015-2016)
● 4-H Congress​: ​Developed and facilitated a program that focused on the importance of
trust and sense of belonging within a group. The program was presented to 4-H leaders
who were visiting from all around the United States. G ​ eorgia College (Fall 2016)
● Principles of Field Leadership​: ​Participated in a staff training course which was a 13 day
backpacking expedition that focused on the development of professionalism and
conscious competence in the outdoors. ​Georgia College (Spring 2017)
● Angiosperms and Gymnosperms​: ​An original environmental education program created
for Lockerly Arboretum that taught the difference between flowering and non-flowering

● Tybee Island Ocean Rescue​: ​Utilized outdoor emergency skills to protect the lives of
individuals who were on the beach and in the ocean. T ​ ybee Island Ocean Rescue

● Assistant Swim Coach and Lead Swim Instructor​: ​Assisted with the Low Country Aquatic
Club’s pre-swim team, finding ways to provide a fun and challenging experience to
participants interested in progressing further with their swimming abilities. Taught
participants the necessary skills to swim all four strokes properly, while focusing on the
importance of and techniques associated with water safety. ​Low Country Aquatic Club

● Instructional Strategies of Canoeing​: ​Developed competency in both flatwater and

that can be used when conducting Environmental Education Programs. Provided tools

● Principles of Field Leadership (student)​: ​Learned how to develop and execute lessons and
activities in the backcountry. Participated in an 18 day backpacking trip focused on
leadership development and group management in the backcountry. ​(Summer 2017)
● Principles of Field Leadership (co-instructor)​: ​I was asked to be a co-instructor for this
course at the end of the summer of 2017. Learned about the management and logistics
behind organizing a course such as this, assisted students with recognizing their own
leadership potential and coached students as they applied their skills over a 9-day
backpacking trip with 13 participants. ​(Summer 2018)
