TARGETS
MDL offer a range of reflective targets for use with the Fanbeam® system. All of these targets have
been specifically designed for optimal performance with the Fanbeam. The target is a key element of
the system that is often overlooked. With the relevant consideration, a correctly selected target will
significantly enhance the performance and reliability of the overall system.

Recommended targets: Alternative target:

• Prism clusters (6 to 16 prism variants) • Prismatic tape covered tube
• Optimum long range performance (500 m+) • Short range application (< 150 m)

CONTROL SYSTEM
Legacy and newly developed control systems are available for the Fanbeam® system. The great news
is that they are universally compatible with the various models of equipment still in circulation. New
software and control hardware introduced in 2009 offer end users the ability to significantly enhance
existing systems with minimal disruption.

CABLES
MDL offer various lengths of cables for the Fanbeam® system. The system requires two main cables
for operation; the power cable runs from the PSU to the Fanbeam® and the deck cable runs from the
Fanbeam® to the bridge control system.

SPARES KITS
Spares Kits are available for the Fanbeam® system. These allow vessels to carry backup parts for their
system onboard for quick mobilisation in remote regions. Some of these kits include parts that can be fitted
by crew onboard and some have sub-assemblies that will need to be fitted by a certified MDL engineer at an
Authorised Service Centre.

ACCESSORIES
