CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
The history of funeral service is a history of mankind. Funeral customs are as old as civilization
itself. Every culture and civilization attends to the proper care of their dead. Every culture and
civilization ever studied has three things in common relating to death and the disposition of the
dead some type of funeral rites, rituals, and ceremonies, a sacred place for the dead,
memorialization of the dead. Funeral traditions and rituals have been an important part of how
communities and individuals externalized grief for thousands of years. They are understood as an
important means of taking care of the deceased, as well as those that are coping with the loss of
someone they care for. As a result, such rites and rituals are both extremely personal and
extremely diverse- not only across cultures, but across time. Different communities in different
contexts have found unique ways of organizing funeral rites that cater to their specific social
values and beliefs, as well as the geographical spaces in which these traditions have taken place.
Every culture and civilization have the proper care of their dead. Funeral has been part of
humanity and it will never come to an end. Ethereal Bliss Funeral Homes in Caloocan City is
one of the funeral homes that offers a quality services for such ceremonials. When a customer
seek the proponent’s guidance and service, the business will provide them with high- quality
service at an affordable cost. The business will make sure that all details and wishes for their
loved ones are taken care of. We are in the business of helping and serving families and our
community too.

COMPANY NAME
Partnership defined by the Philippine Civil Code as “Art. 1767. By the contract of partnership
two or more persons bind themselves to contribute money, property, or industry to a common
fund, with the intention of dividing the profits among themselves. Two or more persons may also
form a partnership for the exercise of a profession.”
The proponents decided to name the partnership with initials “CIGN Partnership”. The
acronym CIGN stands for Clarenze, Irene, Gennadi, Nathan. And by combining the initials,
proponents are united not only in the company name but in the business as well.
CIGN PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT
This PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT is made on the 8th day of November, 2018 between Irene
De Vera, Gennadi Kuzmin Ogues, Nathaniel Reyes, Clarenze Lois Tan.
NAME AND BUSINESS
The parties hereby form a partnership under the name of CIGN Partnership to conduct the
business of Ethereal Bliss Funeral Homes.
The principal office of the business shall be at 647 Rizal Ave., Brgy. 071 East Grace Park
Caloocan City.

TERM
The partnership shall begin on the 8th day of November 2018, and shall continue until
shall be maintained at all times in the proportions in which the partners share in the profits and
losses of the partnership terminated as herein provided.
CAPITAL
The capital of the partnership shall be contributed in cash by the partners as follows:
A separate capital account shall be maintained for each partner. Neither partner shall withdraw
any part of his capital account. Upon the demand of either partner, the capital accounts of the

PROFIT AND LOSS
The net profits of the partnership shall be divided equally between the partners and the net losses
shall be borne equally by them. A separate income account shall be maintained for each partner.
Partnership profits and losses shall be charged or credited to the separate income account of each

partner. If a partner has no credit balance in his income account, losses shall be charged to his
capital account.
SALARIES AND DRAWINGS
Neither partner shall receive any salary for services rendered to the partnership. Each partner
may, from time to time, withdraw the credit balance in his income account.
INTEREST
No interest shall be paid on the initial contributions to the capital of the partnership or on any
subsequent contributions of capital.
MANAGEMENT DUTIES AND RESTRICTIONS
The partners shall have equal rights in the management of the partnership business, and each
partner shall devote his entire time to the conduct of the business. Without the consent of the
other partner neither partner shall on behalf of the partnership borrow or lend money, or make,
deliver, or accept any commercial paper, or execute any mortgage, security agreement, bond, or
lease, or purchase or contract to purchase, or sell or contract to sell any property for or of the
partnership other than the type of property bought and sold in the regular course of its business.
BANKING
All funds of the partnership shall be deposited in its name in such checking account or accounts
as shall be designated by the partners. All withdrawals therefrom are to be made upon checks
signed by either partner.

BOOKS
The partnership books shall be maintained at the principal office of the partnership, and each
partner shall at all times have access thereto. The books shall be kept on a fiscal year basis,
commencing on the 30th day of April, 2019 and ending on the 30th day of April, 2019, and shall
be closed and balanced at the end of each fiscal year. An audit shall be made as of the closing
date.
VOLUNTARY TERMINATION
The partnership may be dissolved at any time by agreement of the partners, in which event the
partners shall proceed with reasonable promptness to liquidate the business of the partnership.
The partnership name shall be sold with the other assets of the business. The assets of the
partnership business shall be used and distributed in the following order:
(a) to pay or provide for the payment of all partnership liabilities and liquidating expenses and
obligations;
(b) to equalize the income accounts of the partners;
(c) to discharge the balance of the income accounts of the partners;
(d) to equalize the capital accounts of the partners; and
(e) to discharge the balance of the capital accounts of the partners

DEATH
Upon the death of either partner, the surviving partner shall have the right either to purchase the
interest of the decedent in the partnership or to terminate and liquidate the partnership business.
If the surviving partner elects to purchase the decedent's interest, he shall serve notice in writing
of such election, within three months after the death of the decedent, upon the executor or
administrator of the decedent, or, if at the time of such election no legal representative has been
appointed, upon any one of the known legal heirs of the decedent at the last-known address of
such heir.
(a) If the surviving partner elects to purchase the interest of the decedent in the partnership, the
purchase price shall be equal to the decedent's capital account as at the date of his death plus the
decedent's income account as at the end of the prior fiscal year, increased by his share of
partnership profits or decreased by his share of partnership losses for the period from the
beginning of the fiscal year in which his death occurred until the end of the calendar month in
which his death occurred, and decreased by withdrawals charged to his income account during
such period. No allowance shall be made for goodwill, trade name, patents, or other intangible
assets, except as those assets have been reflected on the partnership books immediately prior to
the decedent's death; but the survivor shall nevertheless be entitled to use the trade name of the
partnership.

(b) Except as herein otherwise stated, the procedure as to liquidation and distribution of the
assets of the partnership business shall be the same as stated in the section regarding voluntary
termination.
ARBITRATION
Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement, or the breach hereof, shall
be settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules, then obtaining, of the American Arbitration
Association, and judgment upon the award rendered may be entered in any court having
jurisdiction thereof.

Required Capitalization
The partners of the CIGN Partnership agreed to contribute P1,500,000.00 each. The total cash
investment is P6,000,000.00 and it will be part of a common fund. The investment will be used
for payments of the construction of building, and expenses and purchases of tools, equipments,
cars, land, and other things that will be needed in the business. The firm will apply for a loan if
the partner’s capital contribution is insufficient to operate the business.

BUSINESS NAME
Business name is one of the most essential things to be prepared in starting a business. Ideally,
the first thing that attracts the customer is the name of the business. To be able to penetrate in an
industry it must have its own identity that is meaningful, simple and easy to remember. The
proponents decided to name our Funeral service provider Business “ETHEREAL BLISS:
Funeral Home”. As the name implies, Ethereal (1)relating to the regions beyond the earth, (2)
celestial, heavenly, (3)unwordly, spiritual. The ancient Greeks believed that the Earth was
composed of earth, air, fire, and water, but that the heavens and its denizens were made of a
purer, less tangible substance known as either "ether" or "quintessence." Ether was often
described as an invisible light or fire, and its name derives from the Greek aithein, a verb
meaning "to ignite" or "to blaze." It referred specifically to regions beyond the Earth, but it
gradually came to refer to anything heavenly or airy. Bliss is a reach a state of perfect happiness,
joy oblivious of everything else. A joy that will satisfy our client’s family.

this kind of situation. Ethereal Bliss is a mortuary that offers different kinds of service packages
at reasonable price. It is the Funeral Parlor that offers different kind of service that include (a)
pick-up of the deceased’s body (b) embalming of the body and make-ups (c) the casket (d)
delivery of the body in its destination –chapels or house, church, cemetery or cremation center
(e) set ups of the place where it is going to wake (f) tools and equipment that is needed such as
lightings, monoblock chairs, and others (g) pick-up for tools and equipment (f) and others if any.

We associated dove, olive leaf, death symbol, and cross to achieve this kind of logo. It's usual to
see a dove and an olive leaf in every funeral home logo, but the business' logo is different

because of its meaning. The blue dove represents the sadness of the dead’s family. The olive leaf
symbolizes the peacefulness of the spirit of the dead person. At the bottom of the logo you can
see the black color symbol, the arms pointing downward indicating the death of a person. The
symbol is called Yr rune and it was taken from the Younger Futhark also known as Scandinavian
alphabet. At the bottom part of “Ethereal bliss” and “Funeral Home” there is cross on the middle
that has a horizontal line in both side. The horizontal line is separated from each other –the left
side represents the earth while the right one is the heaven. Death is not the only way to heaven
but Jesus himself. He died on the cross to save us from our sins. From the symbol of cross, Jesus
also represent salvation.
TAGLINE
The tag line of Ethereal Bliss Funeral Homes is “Journey with”. The proponents came up with
this tag line because death will be the starting point of a man's journey to heaven to meet his
Creator. Death is not the end, it is the continuation of an everlasting life with our Creator. It is
indeed, the next step towards the real and complete happiness that is immeasurable.

Social generations are divisions of people born in the same date range and who have the same

4. Cremation- Ethereal Bliss Funeral Home has no cremation so that it can limit the needs of the
client. Some clients want their deceased to be cremated. The Funeral home will refer them to the
Mother Teresa Crematory and Columbarium.
5. Death certificate- If the place of death of the deceased is in the hospital and they are admitted
for twenty-four (24) hours, hospital is the one will provide the death certificate but if the place of
death of the deceased is in the house or other place even in the hospital but they are not admitted
to the hospital for less than twenty-four (24) hours the funeral home will provide for death
certificate.

6. Embalmer- The embalmer is not employee of funeral home, so that if there times that the
embalmer is not available. The funeral home must have not only one contact embalmer but at
least three persons.
7. Location- The location for the pick-up and final disposition of the deceased, the capacity is
within North Caloocan. If the location is too far the client needs to pay for additional payment
for the gas.
TREND ANALYSIS
Trend Analysis - - use to determine pattern or movements of an economic variable over time that
may indicate the direction in which it will proceed over time. Historical demand data is collected
for a number of years. The rate of growth of demand data is collected during the past years is

3.1. Safety and sanitation policies
Health and Safety of customers and employees are also responsibility of the business firm. We
have implemented policies regarding safety and sanitation that are practiced at Ethereal Bliss
Funeral Home regularly. This is done to avoid any risk that will put the business in any trouble.
Clean environment is so simple to attain. Proper cleaning up of equipment and facilities is done
after they were being used by the customer. All sanitation procedures are strictly to be followed
by the employees at all times. We ensure that no one will be in danger. Which is why simple

3.7. Job duties and authority
All employees should fulfill their job duties with integrity and respect toward customers, and the
community. Executives mustn’t abuse their authority. We expect them to delegate duties.
Likewise, we expect the crew members to follow the executives’ instructions and complete their
duties with skill and in a timely manner. We encourage mentoring throughout our company.
3.8. Absent, Tardiness, and Punctuality Policies
Management and employees should follow their schedules. We can make exceptions for
occasions that prevent employees from following standard working hours or days. But,
generally, we expect employees to be punctual when coming to and leaving from work.
3.8.1 Management Responsibility
 Management are responsible for monitoring employees working hours through our
timekeeping system or software.

attendance. If you notice that one of them is consistently late or absent, arrange a private

Funeral must have a stock of five (5) pieces per design of the casket for adult size and three (3)
pieces of the design of the casket for the infant size. The supplier needs three (3) days to deliver
the order. If the casket design lower at two pieces for adult and for infant to one (1) piece the

Funeral home must stock at least two (2) containers of the formalin, in one person the formalin
needed are six (6) to ten (10) liters. The suppliers needs two (2) days to deliver the chemical, so
that if the one and one- half of the formalin is already used the funeral home needs to restock.

5. Waste Disposal Policy
The Company has to follow the DENR Administrative order no. 2013-22 provided by the
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
 The Biohazardous or disposable wastes will be collected by the Municipality of Waste Management.
They will be the one to make the proper disposal of the infectious materials.
Biohazardous waste, also known as infectious or biomedical waste, is any waste that
contains infectious materials or potentially infectious substances such as blood. Of particular
concern are sharps such as scalpel blades, needles, glass pipettes, or any other waste
material that may cause an injury during handling.

 Morgue has the drain that is connected at the end of the embalming table. This drain
leads to a container, which is much like a toilet.
 The fluid must be treated with the disinfected, if the deceased was affected by the
transmissible disease. The fluid must collected by the company that deals with it.

home, if their damage or inadequate number of things the client must shoulder another
payment or penalty for the said things.

Ethereal Bliss Funeral Home have a contingency plan for what to do if something goes wrong.
The following are the situations that might encounter:
 In case of emergency like when the customer was bitten by the dog inside the chapel, it’s
important that the injury must be taken care right away to reduce the risk of bacterial
infection. The security guard should assess the wound to determine the severity. The
security guard will be the one to make the fist aid. In case the injury is severe the crew of
Ethereal Bliss Funeral Home will bring the patient in the nearest clinic or hospital and the
business will be liable for the medical expenses that might incurred.
 A fire in the workplace can be one of the most devastating hazards for not only the
workers but the public as well. It can result in numerous serious injuries or even fatalities

in addition to the extensive property damage. So fire safety is pretty important. The
Ethereal Bliss Funeral Home will make sure to familiarize the workers with the
business’s fire procedure.
Basic fire safety that must know for every worksite:
 Know the location of the fire extinguishers in the workplace. Workers must be aware
where the nearest extinguisher is at all times.
 Know where the nearest emergency exits are.
If you discover a fire:
 Alert all other individuals within the workplace by shouting clearly.
 Use the nearest exit to evacuate the workplace.
 Use a fire extinguisher to put the fire out.
