 ENGLISH: CAUTION!
SAFETY

· Installation, maintenance, etc. of this apparatus should only be performed by qualified electricians.
Disconnect the voltage to the equipment during installation and maintenance, like replacement of the fuse.
· The power supply cord is intended to serve as the disconnect device.
The socket-outlet shall be near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
· To avoid fire hazard, use only a fuse of the correct type, voltage rating, current rating and breaking capacity as specified by
the manufacturer: 250V T2A (Time lag) with a breaking capacity of 20A.

compatibility (EMC) for operation at 50Hz and bears the CE mark.
When an apparatus is used in a system, EU directives may require that the system is verified for EMC compliance.
The following guidelines are helpful in improving the EMC performance of a system:

1) The use of metallic enclosures generally improves EMC performance.

2) Run cables away from apertures in the enclosure.
3) Run cables close to grounded metallic structures.
4) Use multiple ground straps for doors or panel parts as required.
5) Avoid common ground impedances.

· Die Installation, Reparatur, etc. dieser Stempeluhr dürfen nur von anerkannten Elektrikern oder entsprechend
ausgebildeten Technikern durchgeführt werden. Vor Arbeiten an der Uhr, z.B. Sicherungswechsel, muß
diese vom 220/240V-Netz getrennt werden.
· Die Netzsteckdose, welche das Gerät mit Strom versorgt, muß sich in der Nähe des Geräts befinden und leicht zugänglich
sein. Trennung des Geräts vom Netz erfolgt durch Herausziehen des Netzkabels.
· Bei einem Sicherungswechsel in der Uhr muß darauf geachtet werden, daß derselbe Sicherungstyp
(Voltbereich, Stromstärke und Auslösegeschwindigkeit) eingesetzt wird, 250V T2A mit Schaltvermögen von
20A. Ansonsten besteht Brandgefahr.

ELEKTROMAGNETISCHE VERTRÄGLICHKEIT

Diese Stempeluhr entspricht den gesetzlichen Bestimmungen 89/336/EEC der EU (europaïschen Gemeinschaft) über die
Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit (EMV) für Funktion im 50Hz-Bereich.
Die Uhr wurde entsprechend geprüft und trägt das CE-Zeichen.
Wenn die Uhr in einen Verbund mit anderen Geräten ein neues System ergibt, muß nach den gesetzlichen Bestimmungen die
EMV gegeben sein. Inspektoren de EU können dieses System bei Ihnen auf Einhaltung der EMV kontrollieren.
Die folgenden Hinweise können die EMV verbessern:

1) Metallgehäuse können die Strahlung begrenzen. (Der gebrauch von metallischen Gehäusen erhöht die EMV.)
2) Sorgen Sie dafür, daß die Kabelwege im Gehäuse möglichst weit weg von Öffnungen verlaufen.
3) Leitungen sollen in Metallrohren oder gegen Metallstrukturen installiert werden.
4) Alle Teile des Gehäuses müssen mit Kabeln verbunden sein, auch Türen und andere bewegliche metallische Dinge.
5) Sorgen Sie für eine gute Erdung, alle Teile müssen das gleiche Erdpotential aufweisen.

- When you select this consecutive model, only one print column can be selected. Only card type
18 or related can be used.
- A wider imprint size can be set. Refer to page 4.

CP-3200

- This is a consecutive or non – consecutive model. (selectable)

- The print position can either be done weekly program, or is done consecutively by the time
recorder.

CP-3300

- This is a CP-3200 model with extended functions

e.g. 4-digit index printing, machine number

Index printing

* An index up to 4 digits (max. 9999) can be printed in stead of the time indication, so printed
horizontally.
* This index is programmable. This means that both the 'interval' and the 'increment' is
selectable.
* This index printing can be used in combination either with the black block mark
(consecutive) or without it (non-consecutive).

Interval - This is the time period between every increment of the index.
- Select between 1, 3, 5, 6 or 10 minutes.
- To set, refer to program item 42. Refer to page 10.

Increment - This is the value by which the index is increased after every interval time has
gone by.
- Selection can be made between 1, 2, 3 or 5
- To set, refer to program item 43. Refer to page 10.

Machine number To identify the time recorder at which the imprint was made.

* Selection is possible from 01 up to 99

* The machine number is printed 'before' the time imprint.
This is where 'normally' the date/day is printed.

To use, set 9 at program item 44. Refer to page 11.

The actual machine number is to be selected at program item 45. Select from 01 - 99.

PRECAUTIONS

1. Installation, maintenance, etc. of this apparatus should only be performed by qualified electricians.
Disconnect the voltage to the equipment, during installation and maintenance like replacement of
the fuse or the ribbon cartridge.
2. The mains cord may be used as a 2-pole mains disconnect device. Therefore always place the
socket outlet for that mains cord close to the equipment.
3. To avoid fire hazard, use only a fuse of the correct type, voltage rating, current rating and breaking
capacity as specified by the manufacturer.
4. Avoid the following when installing the time recorder.

Direct sunlight and vicinity of a Wet places Places where there is much dust or
heater vibration

5. Use this unit within the ambient temperature range of 0°C to 45°C with relative humidity of 10 % to
90 %.
6. Wipe lightly with a soft cloth soaked with water or neutral detergent.
Do not use thinner, benzine or insecticide.

OPENING AND CLOSING THE UPPER CASE

To open the upper case, turn the case key clockwise. The upper case will open. Turn it upwards and
take it off.

Before closing the upper case, slide the program switch downwards and back upwards.
To close the upper case, replace it at the correct position and turn it downwards until it clicks.

 GETTING STARTED

1. If you want to use a time card, that may be different from the standard factory setting (see page
14), please refer to page 14 for the programming and to page 35, for the mechanical adjustment.

2. Connect the battery (with power cord NOT plugged in)

using the case key loosening the two screws on the PC-board as in the figure

After connecting the battery, the display normally shows the normal time indication :

BUT : - The display shows :

This means that the battery is NOT connected and the time recorder will not
function. So normal operation or programming is not possible.
- The display shows :
This means that the battery power is too low. No data will be lost.

If one of these two indications appear, follow next steps 3 and 4 and refer to Caution
below.

If the AC-outlet is plugged in, the display colon will start flashing ON/OFF. The LED will stop
flashing.

Caution

A. When the time recorder is being used for the first time, after a power failure,
after a or display allow the time recorder 24 hours to charge the
battery. (keep the AC-outlet plugged in).
If then still the time recorder does not start up, please contact your local dealer.
B. When no AC-outlet is connected, the time recorder will maintain normal operation for
minimum 300 clockings or 72 hours, if the battery is fully charged. After that, only the clock
settings (time and date) will be lost. The other programmed items will remain.

 INITIALIZATION

First, disconnect the AC-power.

To initialize you do NOT need to open your time recorder.

To initialize your time recorder, push the reset button.

To push, insert a screwdriver into the "reset" hole in the bottom of the time recorder.

default data.
Only time and date data is re-set to the default setting.

slide it downwards.

- YES-KEY : IN NORMAL MODE

To move to the previous printing column.
IN PROGRAM MODE
To confirm the blinking data and thus to move to the next programming
step.

- NO-KEY : IN NORMAL MODE

To move to the next printing column.
IN PROGRAM MODE
To change the blinking data.
(Pressed for 3 sec. or more increases the value by 10)

PROGRAMMING

- Remove the upper case.

- Slide the program switch downwards into program mode.

: By pressing the "FUNCTION"-key, you can move to the next program ITEM. The
selected ITEM number 1 Ø 8 is also displayed as the left digit of the step indicator,
which is shown in the left corner of the display.
Also the corresponding LED will light up.

: By pressing the "YES"-key, the blinking data is selected.

The step indicator will move to the next step.

: Press the "NO"-key if the data is incorrect. The value will increase one by one. If you
keep the key pressed, it will increase by 10. Press "YES" when you get the correct data.

Note : For item 1, 2, 6 and step 31 ( see next page )

After a step of these ITEMS has been set [for ITEM 6, a WEEKLY PROGRAM - step
(WP-step)], the entire displayed data will start flashing (BLINK ALL). Press "YES" to
confirm the set data and the new data will be registered in the memory. The step
indicator will automatically move to the next step or next ITEM if all steps of this ITEM
are set.

Hereby, you can change to a card type which is not the initial card type preset for your time
recorder model.

STEP 34 CONSECUTIVE OR NON-CONSECUTIVE (CP-3200 and CP-3300)

If your time recorder is a CP-3200 or a CP-3300 series one, you can select whether to use it
as a consecutive or a non-consecutive one. The consecutive type will print a black block-
mark by means of which it can detect a previous imprint.
By doing so overprinting will be avoided automatically.

 SETTING A 'PROGRAMMABLE' CARD (a non AMANO standard one)

Apart from the range of standard time cards (refer to pages 32-34), also a non standard time card
can be used.

How to set-up such a card?

Choose the card type No. from No. 1 to 18 (refer to pages 32-34) whose characteristics (such as the
way of printing time & date, card type,...) match most with the time card you want to program.
So if you want to use e.g. a weekly time card, across the-card type, be sure that your "NEAREST"
card has the same characteristics. In this example you can select from the card types 1 to 3.

Following characteristics should match:

- Whether your time card is an across-the-card or a down/up type

- Whether your time card is a weekly, a bi-weekly or a monthly card type
- Whether your time card has one or two printing blocks
- Whether your time card has a blank space or not
- Whether your time card is a two-line-a-day card or not

Following characteristics can be adjusted for 'your' time card :

- The imprint position (column pitch and line pitch)

- The number of lines and columns of your time card
- Whether your time card will be a down/up or an up/down card, if you use a down/up the card
type

To get an overview of the standard (so "NEAREST") cards, refer to the LIST of CARD TYPES.
Refer to pages 32-34.

The range of standard time cards for each model is, for:
- CP-3000 18 and 19 (programmable card)
- CP-3200 1-17 and 19 (programmable card)
- CP-3300 1-7 and 8 (programmable card)

Following RESTRICTIONS have to be kept in mind if you want to set your 'own' time card: (Refer to
the scheme on next page)
- The width of your card should be within the range of 66-107 mm
- The card thickness should be within 0.2 - 0.5 mm
- The centre of the top imprint position should be at least 53 mm lower than the upper card edge
- The bottom margin should be at least 10 mm
- The consecutive models compare the background colour and material of the time card with the
printed black block, used to prevent overprinting. If this contrast is not large enough,
there is a possibility of bad functioning of your time recorder.
In that case, please contact your local dealer for advise.
- No pre-printing is allowed in the area of 5.5 - 8 mm from the bottom edge of your time card,
when you want to use a consecutive model and a down/up card (card types 10-18 or 4-7 for
CP-3300)

In case of such a time card and model, the time recorder checks the above mentioned contrast,
within this specified area.If your time card has some pre-printing in that area, please contact your
local dealer for advise.

a more wide time card, please contact your local dealer.

CHANGING THE WEEKLY PROGRAM

To change your Weekly Program :

* First, do a program printout of your currently used program (Item 7, refer to page 31)
* Define the WP-step you want to change
* Select Item 6 (weekly program)
* Select the defined WP-step, by keeping the "YES"-key continuously pressed until the defined WP-
step number appears;
Pressing continuously the Yes-key : to go to the next WP-step
No -key : to go to the previous WP-step

e.g. If you want to change WP-step number 17, press "YES" continuously until this display
appears. So you do not have to go through each "MOMENT" and each "OBJECT" of all
steps up to WP-step 17.

* Change the WP-step data according to the normal set procedure

Be sure you go throughout the whole WP-step and press "YES" to the BLINK ALL.
Otherwise your modification is not stored into memory.
* After changing do a new program printout (Item 7), to check the new setting

HOW TO ADD A WP-STEP

* Do a program printout (Item 7)

* Check which is the last WP-step
* Select ITEM 6 (weekly program)
* Press the YES-key continuously until an empty WP-step appears
(WP-step no = last WP-step no. + 1)
* Set your data
* Do a new program printout. Check whether your WP-step is included

NOTE : The time recorder will sort your new WP-step into the old program chronologically.

HOW TO DELETE A WP-STEP

* Do a program printout (Item 7)

* Select the WP step you want to delete
* Then press "NO" to all days (Delete all triangles of this WP-step)
* Step No. and its "MOMENT" will start flashing on/off (BLINK ALL)
* Press "YES" to delete this WP-step
* Do a program printout to check

CAUTION: When you delete a WP-step the time recorder will shift the other WP-steps to fill in the
empty place.
e.g. After deleting WP-step no. 7, WP-step no. 8 will become WP-step no. 7

ITEM 7 : PROGRAM PRINTOUT

By selecting this ITEM, you can :

* Check the settings of your time recorder

* Check your weekly program

Select " 1 "

Press "YES" to confirm and insert a time card

The time recorder will printout next information

If you have programmed one or more WP-steps, you can also get a printout of your Weekly Program
(item 6) settings. To get, insert another time card (or the reverse side). Every 16 WP-steps the time
recorder will throw out the time card. You can insert a new one to get the next 16 steps.

To stop the printout at any time, keep one of the keys pressed until the printing stops.

To leave this Program Printout item, press the * key or switch to normal mode.

For the Weekly Program example on page 29, you get following print-out (Automatically sorted
chronologically).

ADJUSTING FOR THE DIMENSIONS OF 'YOUR' TIME CARD

The card pocket width is pre-set for the

AMANO standard card type (card type 07)
However it can be adjusted from 66 to 107 mm

1. Disconnect the AC-power.

Remove the upper and the front case.
Refer to page 6, figures 1 & 2.
Switch to program mode.
Disconnect the battery. Page 6, fig 3.

2. To adjust the card pocket width, loosen

screw "a", insert the card into the card
pocket and adjust the width (allow 0.5 mm play).
Then tighten the screw.

3. Also loosen screw "b", insert the card and

adjust the width to the card width (allow
0.5 mm play). Then tighten the screw.

4. Card thickness adjustment

For thick and folded cards, adjust the
white dials "d" (on both side of the printer
platen) to the thickness of the card.
Preset for card thickness 0.38 mm.
Turn clockwise for more thin cards.
One click = 0.06 mm

ADJUSTING SMALL VARIATIONS OF THE CARD DIMENSIONS

Small differences in dimensions of your time card, compared to the standard CARD LIST TYPES, can be
adjusted.

* Horizontal variation (Side margin)

Select password "8" at step 31

Display will change to step 38

This value can be changed by pressing the "NO"-key

1 push = 0.25 mm (0.01 inch)

16 is standard value

From 17 ® 31 enlarging the side margin

01 ® 16 decreasing the side margin

* Vertical variation (Bottom margin)

Select password "9" at step 31

Adjusting way is the same as for horizontal

Remark : Use this feature only for SMALL variations. For more big adjustments, please contact your local dealer.

CONNECTING THE EXTERNAL SIGNAL LINES

1. Disconnect the mains cord from the socket outlet.

2. Remove the upper case, using the case-key .
3. Remove the front case, loosening the two screws.
4. Fix the signal lines into the connectors CN7A, using a flat-head screwdriver. Use a double or
reinforced insulation wire for the connection towards CN7A (220-240V ~).
5. Clamp the signal lines using a cable clamp appropriate to your cable thickness.

SLAVE CLOCK

When CP-3x00 is used as "slave" clock, the built-in clock receives time signals from a master clock. The
input signal must be of 12 or 24 VDC (SELV), with a pulse width of 1 - 3 seconds.
In the same way as above fix the slave lines to connector CN2 left side of CN7A). Use a basic insulation wire
for the connection towards connector CN2 (12VDC or 24VDC).

WALL MOUNTING

1. Disconnect the mains cord from the socket outlet.

2. Remove the upper case.

Remove the upper screws on top.
Slide the back plate downwards and Two screws

* Install the time recorder on a level surface

FUSE

When the fuse is blown and you want to insert a time card, is displayed. Punching is not
possible any more (programmed data are not lost).
To avoid fire hazard, use only a fuse of the correct type, voltage rating, current rating and breaking
capacity as specified by the manufacturer:
250V T2A ( Time Lag) with a breaking capacity of 20A.

To replace the fuse :

* Disconnect the mains cord

from the socket outlet
* Remove the upper and
front case
* Disconnect the battery

* Replace the fuse
* Re-connect the battery
* Mount the frontcase
* Set the correct date and
time for your time recorder
* Mount the upper case
* Connect the mains cord

REPLACING THE RIBBON CASSETTE

1. Disconnect the mains cord from the socket outlet

2. Remove the upper case
3. Switch to program-mode DISPLAY BRACKET
4. Turn the display bracket
upwards

5. Remove the cassette

As shown in the figure above, pull the ribbon holders towards you and, holding them there, pull out
the cassette.

6. Insert a new cassette

* When is displayed (see error codes p. 39 - 40)

ERROR CODES

* Beeps

When using your time recorder, some "beeps" can start sounding. They have the following variety in
duration with a corresponding meaning.

1. Very long beep: card detected at card detect sensor, but card disappeared before
feeding, or card is too short.

2. Long beeps: line or column already FULL. Can not print any more on this line or
column.

3. Short beeps: front/back warning. Card wrongly inserted.

Continuous BEEP when the LCD-board is not connected.

* Error codes

These error codes will be displayed on the L.C.D.

e.g.

There are "9" different codes possible.

After the first "5" codes have been displayed, the time recorder will return to its normal appearance.

For error codes 6...9. Please solve the problem. Then press any of the keys. The time recorder will
restart.

These are the ERROR codes which can appear on the DISPLAY:

* The time recorder will display the error code and return to normal operation

: - Date not correctly programmed (leap year error for date)

: - BAD ribbon. Please replace by a NEW one

- No ribbon at all inside machine
- Wrong colour is active

: - Error detected by the PUSH/PULL detection system :

* During feeding into the machine of the card

* During the moving of the printermotor
(during moving,printing or sensing cycles)

 : NOT Available for CP-3000 models

- The imprint size you selected is too large for the column width size of your time card

* The imprint-size you selected at ITEM 4, can not be printed inside the column width of your
timecard.The time recorder will adapt its way of printing,according to the time card.Please
change the programmed data.

The time recorder will automatically adapt as follows :

Programmed imprint
Date will be omitted
Hour imprint is 90° turned.

* The column pitch is < 5 mm, programmed for a non consecutive card (It should be at
least 5 mm)
* The column pitch is < 8 mm, programmed for a consecutive card (The column pitch should
be at least 8 mm)

: - The Weekly Program is NOT cleared after the selection of a NEW cardtype. You should
BETTER clear the Weekly Program before selecting another cardtype.

: - The number of imprints have reached their MAXIMUM amount.

When you print too much within a short time, the machine will refuse to accept NEW cards.
Take out your time card and please wait for 10 minutes.
This is a temperature protection to prevent OVERHEAT of the motors.

* The machine will NOT return to its NORMAL functions (Err6 ...Err9)
It will continue with displaying this error.
You must SOLVE the problem before restarting.
To RESTART the machine you can press any of the keys.

: - Card inside the machine. The machine can NOT flush out this card.The card is detected
by the Front/Back sensors, but not between the ROLLERS (can not be flushed out)

: - The fuse of the battery is blown (fuse blow out)

- The battery is NOT or badly connected
- The battery is BAD, it can not deliver enough power
(Replace your battery)

: - Contact your local dealer

: - Not possible to read/write correctly from/to the Eeprom

: - Battery power is too low. Check the AC-connection.

See page 6.

NOTE : When you insert a card into the time recorder, but do not allow it to flush out the card, NO
error code is displayed. Wait for a minute change on the display or press one of the keys.
The time recorder will retry.
