Teaching with Graphic Organizers

Graphic Organizer Video Enhancement:

The graphic organizer that I created using canva.com is one where students can write
down some notes while they watch the video. The form will be handed to the students before the
start of the video the day of the dead “Día de los Muertos.” The purpose of the form is to help the
students have a better understanding of one of the celebrations held in Latin America. The
students will use the graphic organizer to write down notes about the video from Teacher Tube.
It will help them have a better understanding as to why the day of the dead is celebrated by the
Hispanic community. The graphic organizer will also give the students the opportunity to write
something they thought was interesting about the video.
To create this graphic organizer, I used a free template provided by canva.com. I did
some modifications to the template to match my lesson plan and to better go with the video. I
added some pictures of the day of the dead to help make this form more related to the subject.
Boxed were utilized to form different sections where students can write down the information
they see in the video. Each of the boxes has a question to help guide the student on what it is they
are looking for in the video.
