Simple Ways to Enjoy Life with Heavenly Food
Imagine you’re in a lost island for seven days, where nobody is around
and no food to eat. You are very hungry; then suddenly, you see a big, fat,
loud chicken coming out from nowhere. What will you do with it?
Speaking of grilled chicken, don’t you know that it is one of the most
famous delicacies in the Philippines? In fact, a well-known actor, a pure
Negrense, owns a Chicken Inasal restaurant in Quezon City. Chicken
Inasal, as Bacolodnons call it, is popularized by Negrenses. Perhaps,
tourists flood and fly to Bacolod City just to taste the well-known inasal. It is
only a marinade chicken grilled on scourging coals with basting sauce
which made it extra special for the Bacolodnons. Easy right? Sounds like!
However, it is not as easy as that.
Do you want to know how to cook it? Would you like your inasal to be
of lower cholesterol and less burnt? Well, here’s a tip: Before diving into
grilling the heaven-tasting inasal, make sure to remove the chicken skin.
First, in a freezer bag or large bowl, mix the chicken, lemongrass, salt,
ground black pepper, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, vinegar, and lemon or
calamansi juice. Second, stir or shake the mixture until every ingredient is
thoroughly mixed. Marinade for one to three hours (if served immediately),
or overnight for the chicken to absorb well the ingredients. Third, in a bowl,

or calamansi juice then stir. Set aside. Fourth, grill the chicken while
basting generous amount of the margarine mixture. Fifth, transfer the
grilled chicken to a serving plate. And, finally, serve with sinamak combined
with soy sauce. Share and enjoy!

Well, there you are-- the easy way of cooking chicken inasal! Another
tip, it is more enjoyable when eaten with bare hands. Remember, you don’t
need a silver fork to eat good food.
