6. Well Control Risks

• There is no historical Killing problem well kick due to insufficient
Hydrostatic Pressure.
• MASP is 18 psi from upcoming exposed zone Rindu ‘sd (add
Reservoir Pressure
perforation)
• Maximum pressure is 5.55 ppg from Rindu ‘sd (add perforation)
• Pressure may be higher than anticipated due to Steam
• Uncontrolled flow of hydrocarbon or steam to surface
• Higher GOR causing high shut-in pressure and flammability
Reservoir Fluid
• Presence of H2S causing personnel injury
• Hot water or crude oil causing personnel injury.
• Well is produced from Rindu, Pertama and Kedua ‘sd
Fluid Losses • In case need LCM, there's risk for shortage of LCM. However, Service
provider can deliver to location within 30 km
Mechanical • Plunger and rods left in hole unable to recover
• Tubing stuck, unable to pull with maximum capacity
Condition of Well
• Tubing broken/ collapsed after pulling
Bore
• Sand/ clay fill up wellbore, blockage the annulus

Completion & Workover – DURI07261 – 5M54C

Duri 5M84C is located in Area 08 SW . Based on Chevron Pacific

Indonesia IBU_CPI_DR-SOP_33 Shutting in Steam Injectors prior to
Drilling or Workover Activities (DSF) Section 5.2 Criteria for
Monitoring – Table 2.

Request to shut in following injector well prior to rig to commence at

5M84C for injectors well in range up to 250 meters (821 ft).
N/A

List of surrounding injector wells that may potentially impact to the

wellbore are:

No need to shut-in those injectors due to no well control issue in

history. But D&C will request to Asset Team if there is killing problem
encounter during execution.
Other No other significant risks were evaluated.

7. Completions Fluid Management Plan

• Initial Killing use Fresh or Formation water (8.33ppg). Fill up well to cool
down or/and maintain over balance.
• If water density is not enough to kill the well then completion fluid density
can be determined as following formula (ensure well’s annulus or string has
been filled up with fresh or formation water) :
KF ppg = 8.33 ppg + {(Shut-in Pressure*)/(0.052 x TVD)} + 0.5 ppg (SF)
Minimum * If bullheading through tubing use SITP
If bullheading through annulus use SICP
Overbalance
• Completion Fluid Brine i.e. KCL, NaCl and combination of Sodium Formate
and Sodium Nitrate are commonly used for killing fluid within the area
operation which will be provided by a third-party Contractor
• Based on history, this well doesn’t have killing problem history. This well
could be killed using water from 60-120 bbls and bleed to 0 psi.
• In case found pressure, we will use safety factor 0.5 ppg
• Maximum pore pressure is 5.55 ppg, for initial killing will use water.

8
Completion & Workover – DURI07261 – 5M54C

Expect high fluid losses from Pertama sand

Mitigation for Fluid Loss:
- Refer to IBU SMO Loss circulation SOP section 2.2
- There are 2 tanks available in rig site with both have maximum 200 bbls
capacity or total for 2 tanks are 400 bbls. With average pump rate 2-5 bpm, 2
tanks could supply water for 80 – 200 minutes depends on the fluid loss and
supply water from killing line.
- Each of area has dedicated stand pipe or central gathering station (either
treated formation water or fresh water): Stand pipe 5U and 6L Brine and Mud
Fluid loss are provided by third party contractor (PT. Matra Unikatama).
control plan - With 1 load of vacuum or tanker capacity is 60 bbl., we need 7 load to full the
tank. We need the vacuum to re-fill up rig tank every 12 – 30 minutes to get
continues pumping (assuming no fluid in the tank).
- Based on assessment, the access road to location is good enough for vacuum
truck to reach the location. The availability of vacuum truck to be discussed
with operation team in Pre-Operation Meeting.
- If polymer is needed. Chemical for mixing polymer will be provided by service
company (Matra Unikatama) which base is located within 30 KM from the
field.

LINE UP LINES FROM CASING AND TUBING TO TANK. BLEED OF CASING AND TUBING PRESSURE TO 0 PSI (OR AS LOWEST
AS POSSIBLE) THEN CONTINUE TO KILL THE WELL. FLOW CHART KILLING WELL DSF CAN BE FOUND ON LAST PAGE AS
KILLING GUIDANCE.

Make sure to kill the well properly before commencing workover operation and also maintain primary well Control at all
time (WSEA 3A and 3B)

Last Successful Killing: water 8.33 ppg with volume max 120 bbls
24
Note: for well with killing problem history (RLN12) we may follow last successfull killing recipe above or may use other
alternative based on actual condition. Please discuss with fluid engineer and team leader operation for more detail
information.

Fresh or Formation water (8.33ppg) is used to fill up wells in most location in HO due to depleted formation. Filling up well
with water is normally performed to maintain fluid return to surface and maintain over balance. If the well unable to
maintain fluid column, operation can be continued while pumping fluid in to the well regularly

If water density is not enough to kill the well then completion fluid density can be determined as following formula (ensure

16
Completion & Workover – DURI07261 – 5M54C

well’s annulus or string has been filled up with fresh or formation water) :
KF (ppg) = 8.33 (ppg) + 0.5 ppg (SF) + (Shut-in Pressure (psi)*)/(0.052 x TVD top of perforation (ft))
*If bullheading through tubing use SITP
If bullheading through annulus use SICP

Completion Fluid Brine i.e. KCL, NaCl and combination of Sodium Formate and Sodium Nitrate are commonly used for killing
fluid within the area operation which will be provided by a third party Contractor

--> Option #3 : R/U Wireline and RIH Jet Cutter or Prima Cord (String Shot) - follow SOP for Back off with wireline. RIH FPI as
necessary to determine stuck point - as deep as possible. If Stuck Point 200 ft above TBA, cut tubing at 2 spots (1st in the
middle of stucked fish, and 2nd above stuck point ).

Continue with fishing job as below,

1. Wash over using rotary shoe and circulate out (if loss use foam unit).
2. Fish out remaining fish (if thread in good condition, screw in tubing to TOF or use die collar or tapper tap, if thread is not
good RIH skirt mill and then use Overshot or Spear).

Note,
1. If TOF is not clear please Run IB, next job will be decided based on IB result.
2. Do not conduct back off tubing for WPF Rig (if need to back off tubing, please suspend job and move out rig)
3. Please do inspect pulled tubing string condition (every tubing, nozzles, mandrel and cup packer). Report for any anomaly
4. Notes in the tour report if there is any anomaly such as fluid cut, sand fill, scale, etc
5. Please discuss with Fisherman and TL Operation if any deviation.
In case Rig did not successful to pull out stuck tubing pump and have to pending well, make sure to TIH tubing pump

9 PERFORATING JOB BY SERVICE COMPANY

Prior perforation job please make sure to perform pressure test to lubricator and its connection (WSEA 10A, B, and C)
Gun size: 4.5"
Perforation interval,

Well Interval (ft) Length (ft) Density Sand Gun Type

5M-54C 340-360 20 4 spf R1 Reguler

Required Fluid Level

For New Perforation Zone (NZBP/PRF01):

- Check fluid level before perforation, if wellbore is full of fluid then continue with perforation job. If not, follow next
procedure.
- Isolate existing perforation zone with sand and cement cap to at least 10 ft above TBA or 10 ft above existing top opened
sand. If static level achieves as per require fluid level, then continue with perforation job
- If require static fluid level can't achieve, please check wellbore integrity and overcome the problem. Seek advice to TL
Operation and CE.
- After each perforation run, observe well for 15 minutes and cooling the well as needed. For steam zone that steam exist
based on G&G data, please cooling down with 1500 bbls water.
- For opening isolated perforation zone, please ensure:
▪ Continue pumping water during DOC/clean out sand
▪ Ensure sufficient water supply for the job

Completion & Workover – DURI07261 – 5M54C

▪ Use 1 bpm over initial killing rate. After assessment, if the pumping rate and water supply isn’t possible, then do not
procced to open the isolation zone, propose production only from new perforation zone. Please contact TL Operation
and CE.
Note:
- Please follow SOP for perforation Job by service company
- Please ensure all the charges has fired and report it in Wellview
- Please avoid casing collar

10 CLEAN OUT SAND TO PBTD
RIH with mule shoe and clean out sand to PBTD.
Ensure water supply is enough during clean out

Option for clean out sand on a loss circulation condition,

1. Pump fluid into wellbore with max rigs pump rate
2. Pump using 40 smf polymer. If well is still experiencing loss circulation, increased completion viscosity by 10 smf until 6
max of 80 smf.
3. Aerated polymer
4. Use Foam whenever required if there is experience loss circulation

CONDUCT PRESSURE TEST CASING

Problem - Please call CE before

Before performing Pressure test please isolate lower zone by setting packer (serco/DCS) or dump sand and cement cap if
necessary. Pressure Test casing with 300 PSI and hold for 5 mnts.
conducting this plan.

IF test casing is OK - continue with the next original program.

IF there is any indication of casing leak, perform the following step:
3
1. Locate casing leak by adjusting packer depth setting or by using pressure washer
2. Perform injectivity test with low rate and record as a base line for Squeeze Cementing Design
3. Prepare next step to do Squeeze Job.

Other options or detail information please discuss with TL Operation

Completion & Workover – DURI07261 – 5M54C

ISOLATE OPEN ZONE WITH ONE OF BELOW METHOD DEPEND ON WELL CONDITION.

1. Using packer-- Retrievable Packer + Dump 5 ft sand on top

a. RIH with Retrievable Packer
follow SOP for Running and Setting Packer complete with Setting/Releasing Tools.
b. RIH with Mule Shoe and dump sand at least 20 ft above packer. 4
2. Dump sand above TBA and Cement cap 5 ft
a. RIH with Mole Shoe and dump sand above TBA/open interval or depend on program.
b. Dump 5 - 10 ft Cement Cap with Class "G" Cement on top of the sand

Discuss with TL Operation if other isolation alternative need to be proposed.

PREPARE CEMENTING UNIT AND PERFORM SQUEEZE CASING LEAK JOB

Discuss with TL Operation, Completion Engineer, and or Cementing Engineer to determine detail squeeze method (basic 12
method is bullhead)
WOC
WOC as per design and monitor cement surface sample 6

DOC TO ORIGINAL TOP OF CEMENT. RETEST SQUEEZE CASING LEAK RESULT.

Pressure test casing and increase pressure gradually (per 100 psi) to get 300 psi - 5 mnts hold.
4
If still leaking, discuss with TL Operation and Completion Engineer if required additional squeeze or other alternative will be
taken.
