NARRATIVE REPORT
School Based Training on Child Protection Policy, Anti-Bullying Policy and Handling Student
Discipline in School

Child Protection Policy adhered with the Child Right Act of 2003. This policy states that
no one should be hurt, bullied or abuse whether it is verbally, physically, mentally and
emotionally.
In connection with this, San Juan Elementary School organized a School Based Training Inset
on Child Protection Policy, Anti-Bullying Policy and Handling Student Discipline in School on
October 23-24, 2017. This aims to update the teachers in the newest policy regarding the Child
Right Act of 2003.

San Juan Elementary School organized a committee to secure the implementation of the
policy. Mrs. Joy M. Gallon became the chairman, while Mrs. Lani M. Olan served as Vice-
Chairman, Mrs. Clyo O. Endaya became the teacher representative while Mr. Ronald Malabanan
served as parents’ representative, Maria Victoria E. Hernandez served as pupils’ representative
and the barangay chairman, Mr. Lamberto L. Malabanan became the community representative.
This policy established and maintained an environment where pupils feel safe and secure and
are encouraged to talk or listened to. This also ensured that pupils know that there are adults
within the school who they can approach if they worried or are in difficulty. The school also
ensured that wherever possible every effort will made to establish effective working relationships
with parents and colleagues from partner agencies.
As one of the advocate campaign to promote Child Protection Policy, San Juan
Elementary School led by Mrs. Lani M. Olan, Vice-Chairman of the Child Committe held a
discussion and open forum to teachers of different grades. This discussion became an open
door towards the realization of the different actions for every situations that may arise. These
also brought realization of the difference between corporal punishment and positive discipline.
Today with the help of this school and teachers the community, local officials, parents
and pupils knew how to report cases of bullying and different kinds of abuse which can be
prevented due to the existing rules and regulations on punishment of the abuser.
