A significant factor for process secu-
rity in the IT sector is an uninterrup-
tible power supply. Although the
availability of the European grid is
exemplary at 99.98 %, it is still pos-
sible that there are about 150 inter-
mittent power outages detectable per
annum in a local power system.
Furthermore, there can be high volt-
age peak surges, voltage and fre-
quency fluctuations, distorted voltage
waveforms and even complete power
cuts. In the IT sector, these can lead
to lost data, system crashes as well
as permanent hardware and soft-
ware damage. Generally speaking,
such losses and damage entail con-
siderable financial costs and are
bad for the image of the company
concerned.
The SVS Protect 1. with its power-
level from 10 to 20 kVA protects
your networks against all faults in
the electrical power supply, offering
a reliable safeguard, whether in
the office or in harsh industrial con-
ditions.

Compared to the UPS market stand-
ard as laid down in the UPS product
standard EN 50091, the SVS Protect 1.
is 2 to 3 times more robust against
interference such as high - energy
surges on power lines, high - speed
overvoltages on power and signal
lines (burst) and electrostatic dischar-
ges (ESD). This UPS is also 3 times
more resistant against HF field emis-
sions than standard units.
The SVS Protect 1. operates accord-
ing to the double converter principle
and is designed for use in surge
protection zone 3 as standard.
However, it can be upgraded with
specially adapted safety modules to
offer proven service in surge protec-
tion zones 1 and 2.

connection. The display has a
functional layout and shows current
data at a glance. All functions can
be controlled using only a few keys.
The keys themselves can be electro-
nically locked in order to prevent
any inadvertent change of operating
mode.
Total Network Security
The SVS Protect 1. is capable of
controlling a TCP/IP network fully
automatically in conjunction with the
"CompuWatch" network software
developed by AEG SVS. It can also
do this for heterogeneous networks –
a unique feature setting it apart from
others in its class.
The connected network can be shut
down and rebooted according to
calendar entries or whenever re-
quired. Naturally, individual work-
stations can be controlled in this
way as well.

Watch, you get a complete security
solution for networks and individual
workplaces (total network security
solution) from one company.
