For a short review the students will be ask of the following


questions:

Complete the statements with the best phrases.

1. A concept paper is written mainly to :


a. Distinguished between the new and old meaning of
a word/concept.
b. Trace the development of a word from its old form to
its new one.
c. Clarify the meaning of a concept.
2. At the heart of the concept paper is usually:
a. The definition of the term.
b. The semantic history of the concept.
c. A distinction between its standard and slang
versions.
3. The etymology of a concept or word clarifies:
a. The changes in the meaning of the word.
b. The original form of the concept.
c. The origin and development of the word/concept.
Activity Unlocking Verbal Difficulties (Peel me!)

The students will be given the words taken from the various
concept papers found in the learners material.

Procedure:
 The class will form a circle
 The teacher will give one cabbage paper to be pass on
 The teacher will play a song
 When the music stops the one who hold the paper will
peel the cabbage paper and answer the question.

Analysis The teacher will ask the following questions:


a. How did you find the activity?
b. Are the words familiar to you?
c. Do you usually encounter these words?
d. Is it possible for us to elaborate these concepts? How
should we do it?
e. How your knowledge on developing a concept paper
does helped you identify the meaning of the words? `
Abstraction The teacher will facilitate the discussion on presenting the
following contents:
1. Kinds of concept papers
2. Samples of concept papers
3. Identification of the ideas presented in the different
concept papers
Application Group Activity:

Day 2 and 3 1. The students will be grouped into 5.


2. Each group will choose a leader, secretary, reporter
3. Each group will pick one sample of concept papers:
 Boondocks
 Days of the Week
 Ketchup
 The Sentiments of Kundiman
 Why Sinigang?

4. They will be told to read the various concept papers.


5. Each group will be asked to create a graphic organizer.
6. They are told to present their outputs in class after 5
minutes.
7. Rubrics/ criteria will be used in the presentation.

Day 4 The students will choose one concept paper provided below
and asked to make an outline.
