AC Touch Pig
User Manual 5

INTRODUCTION
This manual covers the operation of the AC Touch alarm system. The manual provides the user with
fundamental knowledge about the system functions that are required in order to use the AC Touch in the best
way. Read the manual before commissioning the alarm system. For information regarding setup and technical
settings that the daily user should generally not carry out, please refer to the technical manual.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AC Touch alarm system is primarily used for monitoring in pig houses. The system can also be used for
triggering alarms in case of faulty equipment. The AC Touch collects all events such as alarms and operation in
a joint log, which can be used for analysis and statistics.
Telephone modem (GSM and landline) is available as accessory for retrofitting in the AC Touch cabinet.
Thanks to the modem, AC Touch can call and notify alarms in a clear voice as well as send alarms as an SMS
message while the user can call or send an SMS message to the unit to get alarm status or to acknowledge
active alarms. The SMS message option is available in the variants that have a built-in GSM modem. For areas
with poor mobile coverage a landline telephone modem is also available.
Furthermore as an accessory, an extension box comes with a further 10 inputs. Up to nine extension boxes can
be connected to one alarm unit. Place the extension box immediately next to the alarm unit. Another extension
option is to use an AC Touch as a slave-unit. This can be performed on a LAN-network, and is particularly
useful where the alarm system covers a geographically large area. Up to nine slave-units can be used in the
same system.

The AC Touch has the following characteristics:

Supervision • Technical

• Of digital ON/OFF outputs. • User-friendly touch screen with easily

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
It is important to maintain and test the alarm system in accordance with the rules of the insurance
company.
Big Dutchman recommends weekly testing. Sign for performed tests in the table in the back of the
manual.
AC Touch is maintenance-free; however, the battery deteriorates in the course of time and must therefore be
replaced at least every three years. Check the date label on or at the battery.

Replace the two ventilation plugs at the

same time as the battery.

When using the extension box

Figure 3: Ventilation plugs

As for all electronic equipment, it is best for AC Touch to be connected to a power supply at all times as this
will keep it dry and free from condensation.

7 Cleaning
The product is cleaned with a cloth wetted with water and thoroughly wrung out,
without using:
• high-pressure cleaner
• solvents
• corrosive/caustic agents

8 Removal for Recycling/Disposal

Big Dutchman products are suitable for recycling are marked with a pictogram showing a refuse
bin that is crossed over. See picture.

It will be possible for customers to deliver Big Dutchman products to local collection sites/recycling stations in
accordance with local instructions. The recycling station will then arrange for further transport to a certified
