IMPORTANT:
The warning notices, which act as a safety precaution, must never be removed. Failure to
comply with this rule will invalidate the warranty and the purchaser will be held fully
responsible.
The end user must ensure that all personnel have the skills and
training required to carry out their tasks and interpret the contents of
this handbook correctly.

- Declaration of Conformity
- Wiring Diagram
- Spare Parts Catalogue
- WARRANTY
The warranty conditions apply provided that the end user meets the
conditions agreed with the Manufacturer. Other special conditions
must be included in writing in the purchase order.
The manufacturer is only liable for defects resulting from normal use of
the machine.
The warranty does not cover parts that are subject to normal wear¸
such as gaskets, diaphragms and springs, or breakage or wear found to
be caused by improper use of the machine.
If the end user wishes to make a claim under the warranty, he must
notify the seller or manufacturer of the defects involved. If it is possible to
identify and remove the faulty part, it can be sent to the manufacturer for
repair or replacement together with the machine’s serial number.
- FIELD OF APPLICATION
ERO® s.r.l. reserves the right to modify its glue guns for technical
reasons at any time, without being obliged to update the handbooks
immediately.
When using this method of gluing, the machine accurately distributes the
glue at speeds of up to 350 metres per minute.
Accuracy and high quality is ensured at all machine speeds (up to 350
metres per minute, with gluing points of at least 60 mm) and negligible
maintenance is required.
If the machine has not been used for a long time, flush the system with
water to remove any glue or deposits. Preferably, flush with any mineral
oil instead of water.
Do not wash the system with solvent or any other product that
would cause the components to deteriorate.
The manufacturer has eliminated all general risks, but clearly certain
operations involve intrinsic hazards that cannot be eliminated (see
ACCIDENT PREVENTION). In order to prevent damage or injury, we
advise the end user to inform the operators of any residual risks
connected with use of the machine.
The end user or employer is legally liable for all damage or injury
caused or suffered by personnel he has authorised to use the machine.
Any operator, within the limits of his skills, is authorised to run the
machine at his own discretion, provided that he is fully aware of what he
is doing, he does not deliberately attempt to inflict injury upon himself, he
has taken all due precautions, and has the required skills and training.
- GENERAL RULES
The system has been built to comply with the most rigorous
accident prevention rules and is equipped with safety devices to
protect the various components and the operators.
For obvious reasons it is not possible to predict all the possible machine
layouts and installations, therefore it is up to the end user to inform the
manufacturer of any particular installation conditions.
The manufacturer declines all liability for failure to comply with the
installation instructions and for any inline systems before or after this
machine.
The system must not be installed out of doors or in adverse
environmental conditions, such as excessively high or low
temperatures, unless specifically requested in the order and approved by
the manufacturer.
The end user must only use original spares and fit them as
instructed.
If parts from the trade are used, the respective manufacturers are liable
for the same.
- SAFETY DEVICES
Maintenance must always be carried out with the system shut down and
the power supply switched off. If it is necessary to move any part of
the system, the operator must make sure everything is safe and
assumes all liability for what he does.
The end user must ensure that all the operators are properly
instructed, particularly as regards hazardous operations and areas. If
necessary, notices or other suitable means of warning must be provided
to prevent damage or injury.
All warning notices, such as Hot Surfaces, Live Parts and Machine
Running, must be kept clean and clearly legible. The same applies to
all instruments and safety devices.
- HAZARDOUS AREAS
Any items not forming part of the machine, and positioned on it, such
as spanners, screwdrivers and bolts, must be removed before starting
up the machine.
The operator must not wear clothes with wide sleeves, laces or
belts, and must not stand anywhere near the machine in bare feet or
wearing wet shoes.
Once the machine has been positioned, it must be levelled. Check that
the connecting piping is not under tension or affected by sudden
movements.
Take great care in the area around the base supporting the glue
tank since it may be slippery.
The machine must be lifted using suitable means able to support the
weight of the various components.
The cables or ropes must not damage or affect the machine in any
way. Rags or cardboard can be used for a padding if necessary.
N.B. When lifting the system, make sure it does not swing as this
may well damage the machine or cause injury.
- INSTALLATION
GENERAL RULES
The machine must always be installed by properly qualified
personnel. This applies to initial installation and whenever the machine
is moved from its original position.
- The fitter and the service engineer are required to report any
defects or deterioration that are likely to affect the basic safety of the
system.
N.B. The machine must be installed with the electricity and compressed
air supply switched off. After installation, keep to the safety distance
when powering on the machine.
Make sure there is no electromagnetic interference, which would
affect operation of the electronic equipment.
- LIGHTING
The lighting must be chosen and located carefully. The operator
must always be able to see the production process clearly, even if he is
not directly involved. Lighting must always be provided even in the
event of a power failure, which means that battery-powered systems
must be provided, particularly to illuminate escape routes.
- INSTALLATION CHECKS
In order to avoid unexpected problems, the end user should carry out the
following checks personally:
- CONNECTIONS
Connect the compressed air supply to the compressed air treatment
unit (11).
Connect the electronic programmer (10) to the mains supply.
It is up to the end user to provide a suitable mains supply. ERO®
s.r.l. cannot be held liable for any inline systems before or after the
machine. It is advisable to install a knife switch (300W - 6A).

GLUING SYSTEM FOR FLEXOFOLDERGLUER
The 4 channel standard control panel for high pressure gluing system is an high technology control panel that
has been studied to allow users and operators to easily program and work. This panel is designed for precise
glue dispensing on high-speed casemaker/flexo foldergluer machine. This smart controller looks in a different
way at the boxes. In fact it is able to check conditions and possible problems before they happen. The system
determines the position of the glue in a different way, and can compensate machine speed problems during
the glue application. The control panel based on a self-learning system in order to reduce operator
interference.
This, also thanks to the CALS and PQC integrated functions. The software inside the control panel is
specifically studied for the corrugated field. Low-pressure pneumatic glue distributors and even more precise
high-pressure electromagnetic glue distributors can be connected to this controller.
IMPORTANT: in order to get the best performance from the system, the gluing station must be
installed from “above” or “underneath”, on the flap side of your casemaker/flexo foldergluer machine.
CALS.
Continuative Auto Learning System. Thanks to this function, the operator does not have to introduce the
measures in the control panel any more. In fact, thanks to the AUTOMATIC “gluer mode”, the control panel
can set the measures and adjust the gluing according to the flap size fully automatically.
The complete system is able to compensate the slipping of the boxes on belts automatically. The system is
not influenced at all of the changing speed of the machine as well.
PQC. (Optional)
Passive Quality Control. Thanks to this function the rejected boxes delivered to your customers will be
reduced. 2 photo-eyes are installed as standard on this system, one directly on the glue station and the
second one in the middle of the machine.
The PQC system is able to inform and avoid the following errors:
The PQC is usually equipped with 2 photo-eyes. (3 or more photo-eyes can be installed as optional by
request).

- MAINTENANCE
- GENERAL RULES
- The maintenance schedule referred to in this handbook and its
attachment must be followed at all times. Other operations not
described are considered as EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
OR REPAIR and must only be done by qualified personnel sent by
the Manufacturer, who cannot be held liable for damage to the
machine or injury if these conditions are not met.
- Never mix different types and makes of glue. The same goes for
solvents and detergents, which would cause undesired effects if
mixed.
- It is good practice to clean the control panel and the rest of the
machine. A greasy or dirty handle is dangerous.
N.B. Cleaning must always be done with extreme care. When using 24 h
compressed air, always wear a mask, safety goggles and leather
gloves.
Always make sure no one else is standing near the machine as they
risk being hit by materials been blown about.

USEFUL HINTS
Washing the system.
During long periods of inactivity, it is good practice to wash the system to prevent the system from thickening. To
do this, proceed as follows:
a) Replace the glue tank with one full of warm water.
b) Perform the manual test using the programmer at frequency 0.
c) All the glue glue guns should be cleaned.
d) When resuming operation, perform the same operation using glue.
The glue circuit must be depressurised before servicing the glue glue guns or the system.
To do this, proceed as follows:
a) Close the main compressed air tap (2).
b) Open the discharge tap (1).
c) The pump stops after about two cycles, which means the system is no longer pressurised.
d) Perform the manual test at frequency 0 to ensure the system is fully depressurised.
e) To pressurise the system, close the discharge tap (1) and then open the compressed air tap (2).
