What To Do With Homeless People

What to do about homeless people is a big issue in most cities. Homeless people live and sleep in

pavements, lean- to’ s against walls of factories., moving pushcarts, spaces in terminals, markets and

bridges, the bigger the city, the more homeless people there are. Some people believe the government

should provide housing for them. There are those who say these homeless people should find a way to

take care of themselves. There are those who say homeless people must be sent where they came from.

A group of people called Friends of the Homeless is raising money for them. They are the

newspaper publishers. A certain amount of the money paid for advertisements is being raised. The group

brought five hectares of land in the province of Rizal where the homeless will be provided housing there. At

present, the group is meeting on how to select those who should be given houses. The group has not

agreed yet on the criteria.
