Analyzing Data:
Using an SEM machine 3 fractured samples were photographed. Using
references and some background information on the samples I had to determine which
samples had which type of fracture and why that type of fracture fits with the fracture
condition.
Prioritizing Work:
Being line crew for seaplanes means that we have to receive planes, clean them,
fuel them, and re-launch them. Figuring out which plane has to leave first means
prioritizing their fueling and cleaning before the other planes, as well as positioning
them on the doc such that they could be launched without moving the other planes.
Tolerating Interruptions:
Being linecrew for a seaplane company means that in between planes coming in
I have tasks in the main terminal that need to be completed. However often times in the
middle of those tasks a plane calls in and says its landing, so I have to drop that task go
catch the plane and then return to continue working on that terminal task.
Constructing Buildings:
My senior project was to rebuild my grandfather’s pigeon barn. I tore his old one
down and build a new and improved one from scratch incorporating elements which
increased its utility. I had to go through the research on how to build it as well as what
materials to use.
Determining a Problem:
As a manager at a catering company it was my job to ensure that everything
went smoothly for the customers event. Often time this was thinking of everything that
could go wrong before it did. Such as, if a table cloth would slide off, or if everything had
a utensil that was accessible, or making sure that the furniture was arranged such that
people could move around easily once the event space filled up.
Drafting Reports:
I have taken multiple lab classes that data is recorded, and a lab report had to be
created incorporating this data as well as all procedures, and background info.
Taking Personal Responsibility:
I have forgotten equipment for catering events and have realized the mistake and
have brought it up with my boss immediately so that we can work together on
remedying it and having it not affect the event.
At one point I called a client and my boss heard that someone had called the
client and was not happy. I immediately stepped up and said it was me. She was not
happy and gave me an earful, but at least no one else had to take the fall for something
I did.
