23. A manufacturer makes two products, A and B. Product A sells at Rs. 200 each and takes ½ hour to make.

A and 16 units of product B. A working week consists of 40 hours of production and the weekly turnover
must not be less than Rs. 10000. If the profit on each of the product A is Rs. 20 and on product B is Rs. 30,

the current availability of staff in the company, each day there is at most a total of 90 hours available for

the maximum amount of daily sales for the first product is estimated to be 200 units, without there being a
maximum limit of daily sales for the second product. Formulate and solve graphically the LPP and find the
maximum profit.

available. Food F1 costs Rs 4 per unit food and F2 costs Rs 6 per unit. One unit of food F1 contains 3 units

Qs 1.Comprehensive Project-

In February 2014, Mr. Gyaneshwar of Mumbai won a lottery prize of Rs 10,00,000 after the payment of
tax. Out of this amount he donated Rs 1,00,000 to a charitable hospital and started the business of
manufacturing plastic goods from the remaining amount on 1st April, 2014.

He hired premises on a monthly rent of Rs 18,000. He used t5he upper storey for his residential purpose
and factory and shop occupied the ground floor. One fifth of all expenditure on rent and electricity was
attributed to residential portion and the balance for business purpose.

He deposited Rs 8,80,000. In Citi Bank in his firm’s name and remaining amount was retained as Cash in
Hand. Wages, advertisement, running expenses of Van and petty expenses are to be paid in cash while all
other payments and expenses are to be paid through cheques.

He purchased a delivery van on 1st April, 2014 fir Rs 3,10,000. The estimated useful life of the van is 10
years after which its residual value is estimated at Rs 40,000. The monthly running expense of the van is
Rs 2,000. This van was used to the extent of 1/3rd for delivery goods to the customers and 2/3rd for
bringing raw material from suppliers.

Mr. Gyaneshwar uses a telephone both for business as well as private calls but has paid the total bill from
business bank account. It is estimated that the private calls account for 1/4th of the total charge. The total
charge amounted to Rs 36,000.

At the start he spent Rs 30,000 on furnishing the office and purchased a machinery for Rs 2,50,000 with
estimated useful life of 10 years with residual value of Rs 20,000. Installation charges amounted to Rs
10,000 on this machinery which were wrongly included in wages.

Following figures are extracted from his books on 31st March, 2015:

Mr. Tushar decided to start a computer business. For this purpose he built the first floor of his house at a cost of Rs
2,00,000 and invested a further sum of Rs 3,50,000 in the business.

He wanted to start with 12 computers costing Rs 40,000 each. He approached ICICI Bank and secured a loan to the
extent of 75% of the cost of computers. It was agreed that the loan will be repaid in four annual instalments as
follows:
