The teacher will demonstrate the following:
a. Mixing water and dye
b. Mixing water and oil
B. Analysis
1. What did you observed when mixing water and dye?
2. What did you observed when mixing water and oil?
3. Which of the two experiment showed uniform appearance? Not uniform in
appearance?
4. Can you still identify water from dye? Water from oil?
5. Do you think the two experiments can be separated? Why?

C. Abstraction
1. What is mixture?
2. What is homogeneous mixture? Heterogeneous mixture?
3. How are homogeneous and heterogeneous mixture differ?
4. What are the types of homogeneous mixture? Heterogeneous mixture?
5. Give examples of homogeneous mixture and heterogeneous mixture.

A. The class will be grouped into 5 and perform the following:
1. Mix powdered juice and sugar
2. Combine sand and stone
3. Mix sugar and water
4. Combine soy sauce and oil
5. Mix powdered juice and water

Each group will then identify if it is homogeneous mixture or heterogeneous mixture


and present it to the class.

Name at least 10 mixtures found in your household and identify them as
homogeneous mixture or heterogeneous mixture
