1. Define Planning and discuss how it is applied in your chosen profession. (20 points)
ANSWER: Planning in layman’s terms is the act or process of making a plan to achieve or do something. It
is also the best cure for people who are having hard times in doing something. In my case as an architecture
student, planning benefits me to understand the impact of the field I have chosen. Architecture course is
not that easy. But having a plan, helps me to organize my school activities efficiently and effectively and
leads me in achieving my goals. Furthermore, planning makes me a better person and brings me a brighter
future.

2. Discuss extensively 5 basic considerations before initiating a site development plan. (50 points)
ANSWER: Before engaging into developing a site, we should consider these five basic considerations; the
zoning, orientation, circulation, accessibility, and safety and security.
The first basic consideration is zoning. It is important to determine where buildings should be
located. The proper positioning and neighboring buildings that will help the facility to be more organized.
Second is orientation that refers to the way a building is situated on a site to achieve the desirable flow of
the design. It also considers the solar orientation in order to locate the right building with different
functions. Third is the circulation. For me it is the blood of the facility because it provides people the sense
of direction and smooth flow of vehicular traffic. The fourth one is accessibility. Our design must provide
an equal experience from all walks of life. It should be sensitive to safety and operability regardless of age,
gender and disability. Eventually, we have the safety and security. Designing a structure that will give safety
and security for the users. Providing them comfort and peace of mind. These are the five basic
considerations before initiating an SDP.

3. Discuss 3 classroom policies under Planning 1: Site Planning and Landscape Architecture. (30 points)
ANSWER: Here are some of the classroom policies that we have under Planning 1: Site Planning and
Landscape Architecture. Policy No. 8: Permits. We are expected to present and give our permits before the
examinations. Policy No. 9: Index Cards. We students are required to make and give a 1/8 size white index
card for the monitoring of the grades. Policy No. 10: Orderliness. During lectures, snacks are allowed. We
should also maintain the cleanliness at all times. If possible, we should stop the use of our devices. At least
minimize the use of them if not that so important. If we feel sleepy, we might stand or lean on the wall.
Moreover, questions are being entertained by raising hands. These are some of the classroom policies.
