Holding up the Universe

(A Reflection about the Natures of ICT)

I have always been fascinated of how ICT helps me. The easier
communication it is providing me every time I need it. The hassle less life it
is providing me. The life hacks that’s spoon feeding me.

The ICT is a life saver for all of us, not only for us students but to
everyone too. It is filled with different doors that can lead you to places
that you might think; far from you. It is filled with wonders that can take you
away from this stressful world. The nature of ICT helped us and assisted us
through solving not only problems but also assignments. Science Technology
Engineering and Mathematics Academic Strand (STEM) is not a joke strand (I mean,
K-12 is not a joke) and the internet (specifically) helped not only me but us
(my classmates, or other students) through different heights it gave us answers,
but one thing that I’ve learned recently (or should I use the term “reminded”),I
was reminded again that “Great power comes with great responsibility”-Spiderman,
which means that we who holds the mouse should be assessing what we click, we
hold the mouse should be responsible in copy pasting answer and put credits at
all time. I was reminded again to think billion of times before I click, because
if not my next clicking may be a click to prison.

It is very odd that we are being reminded again and again but cases
falling on cyberbullying keep filing up and it makes me wonder what action I
should start doing to at least avoid being one of the person committing the
crime and the one being the victim and I’ve come to a solution that I should
not be too much emotional on the internet or in my social media accounts. Also,
being too clingy towards internet and posting too much information can get us
in trouble. After this topic, I’ve learned again that as much as it is assisting
me in doing things, it is also dangerous. ICT can come in handy when the user
has no knowledge on how to use it. The viruses can easily affect your files and
corrupt important data’s. It is important to take this kind if lessons to heart
and not lightly, criminals on internet are becoming more and more creative in
collecting your personal information that might put your lives at risk. There
are also very easy ways to search on the internet, without too much hassles you
can easily find what you were looking for with just the right keys on the search
box. The internet is easy for those who loves to learn new things. It provides
us easily what we are looking for if we just enter things correctly. There are
also ways to have fun on the search engines and exploring can absolutely take
you into new places.

The ICT can be harmful and helpful at the same time, but it is us who
holds what we want it to be. It is us who decides if it will become an acid to
us or a sugar. I’ve learned here again how important it is to copy and paste,
as a journalist I am very aware of plagiarism that is why as much as possible
I am trying not to participate on it.
