Meeting No. Learning Plan Remarks

I. Objectives
Meeting 1 At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. diagram the selection by summarizing each of these;
and
2. determine the characteristics of a call center agents
basing from the selections.
3. construct a formal definition of the given terms.

II. Motivation
The students are going to play a game called “Draw
swords.” They are split into 5 groups. They are going to
choose their first participant to start. The nominated
student then places the dictionary inside their pocket. The
teacher gives a word/image which the students must then
race to find in their dictionary (like drawing a sword under
their arm). The first student to find the word/image is the
winner and will get a point for the group. The game
continues with different words/images until every student
has had a turn.

III. Lesson Development

The words used in the game are listed on the board. This
time, “Formal definition” is introduce to the class. They
will review the words and define these in a formal way.
Some of the words used are from the selections of the
Essential English book pp. 6-7.
Ex.
Term: Editorial
Class: a journalistic piece
Differentiation: which is designed to inform, entertain,
and influence the readers.

After the discussion of vocabulary, the teacher will proceed

to the selections. The students will read silently the
selections about a call center agent (pp. 6-7). After
reading, they will choose a student to be their pair in the
later activity. The first task of the pair will be creating a
table that will differentiate and summarize the 4 selections
(Rachel Dumlao’s, Miguel Leones’, Jhaecci’s, Cecille dela
Cruz’s). After differentiating, the pair are going to create a
graphic organizer containing words that they can describe
to a call center agent based from the selections.
1st task:
Rachel Miguel Leones Jhaecci Cecille dela
Dumalo Cruz

2nd task:

IV. Closure
The teacher is going to review the selections by asking
these questions:
1. What is the main subject of all selections?
2. Why are the tasks of call center agents stressful?
3. What are the characteristics of a call center, based from
the selection?
4. Based from the narration of the selections, would you
like to work in a call center company? Why?
V. Assessment
The students will create their own Facebook post, and the
content of it should be about our discussion. It is somehow
a summary of the topic. Be sure to add a difficult word in
it. Put a hashtag at the end of your post.
For example.
“Your most unhappy customers are your greatest
source of learning.” Being a call center agent is not easy,
but to think that negative happenings in their jobs are just
stepping stones to create new knowledge is one of the
keys to success.
